BlendLine Rally Team

Yesterday, were back on the fabulous rally stages of Mid Wales.

The team have worked hard on upgrading the Subaru N12 to B13 spec (we have previously run to Group N regulations but it’s time to up the tempo 🔊)

Now running an upgraded engine our crew of & headed into the morning loop of stages and made good progress, learning the new feeling of the car.

A gear linkage issue, luckily encountered on the road section back to midday service, was rectified by the team during the service halt back in Builth Wells.

The afternoon stages were faster, hotter and dustier than ever, and a heavy impact on SS8 caused a suspension issue with a time loss as a result of that. But the car finished albeit losing some positions in the order. The team will be busy over the coming weeks ready for the next rally.

Yesterday we enjoyed a run on the Rallynuts Stages on iconic stages in mid Wales.
Whilst commitments elsewhere have meant an attempt at a full championship assault have not been possible for Simon Dalton this season, it has meant some developments have been undertaken on the supported N12 Impreza, now running in B13 class.
A winter of maintenance now lies ahead in readiness for 2022.

Polycarbonate windows now fully fitted, saving a tidy few KGs with the additional mass removed too, including mechanisms and electrics. Sliding windows specced in the made-to-order kit 🤟🏽

With another tick in the proverbial box now archived by last time out, on the NG Stages claiming a win in the NR4 Class, it was time to make the switch to the next category so the toolkit is out and we’re going B13 folks!

First on the list is a full polycarbonate window kit courtesy of ACW Motorsport Plastics.

Next on the list is more weight saving, we’ll be removing all the original window winding mechanisms and electrics. The Impreza will go on a weight saving diet in other areas too. Then of course there’s adding more power/torque, but we’ll come to that soon. 🔧🔧🔧For now here’s some work in progress as we fit the new windows!

Glad to have made the entry list for the Nicky Grist Stages next month. Over 240 entries in a couple of hours, and we made the cut!

Also delighted we are registered with the Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship again, with our crew Simon Dalton and Jamie Vaughan in the BlendLine Apparel Subaru Impreza N12, under the NR4 class (Group N AWD)
