A busy few weeks, with two Boilers lifted for re-tubes, and work steadily progressing with Arthur, all the internal motion work is finished including new eccentric bushes, as well as new pistons and rings and steam brake cylinders.

More Arthur progress with new gland followers made to replace the old ones which were made of Aluminum!

Good Progress made today with "ARTHUR" with the inside motion now completely re-bushed, including new bronze die blocks to replace the old plastic ones, which has worn the expansion links considerably. Also completely overhauled is the reverse pedestal, which was also found to be very worn. There was even time to mend the buffer that had seized and the head fell off!

This is our current big project, Arthur, she's a 10.25" gauge holmside who is in for a complete overhaul. She used to work commercially which is pretty incredible for such a small engine, but this is led to her being very worn out. She's now completely stripped down and ready for a good clean up before bits can be bolted back on!
