Interesting to see Egyptian blueberries in Waitrose, though sad that these were soft and mouldy. I'm sure there will be plenty available of great quality and I've been unlucky, but look closely if you are buying. Avoid any sign of white mould in the calyx.
These are classic Thompson Seedless from India (found in M+S): lovely pale green straw colour, bold berries, firm bite, and deep sweetness: the best of an old stalwart variety.
In my local south Asian store today: delicious Kesar mango from India. £9.50 for a small box of 5-6 fruit or £20 per large box of 12 fruit. Hopefully you can do better, but, for me, the taste makes it worthwhile.
