Perfect 💕

Hello! I'm Catlow and I’m currently working with Rebellion Festival on any issues regarding equality and diversity, which includes safety for women and girls at gigs. This of course includes all women, while also being supportive of non-binary people and people of any gender who are made to feel unsafe, harassed, or uncomfortable.

As a woman and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I'm all too aware of the issues that folks can face at festivals and large events such as this. It's been great to see the steps that Rebellion is taking to tackle these problems going forwards and to ensure a zero-tolerance stance, but I’m aware that some things haven’t been dealt with properly in the past. I'm really happy that they've asked me to be on board, as we all work to make Rebellion as safe and inclusive as possible.

I would first like to open up a dialogue with anyone who has had issues in the past that they either haven't felt safe to report, or that they have reported but it wasn't dealt with properly. Any correspondence will be dealt with confidentially, with a victim centred approach and will be responded to from a place of belief. It's very important to me that no one is left feeling unheard, and that abusers are held accountable. Abuse and harassment in any form will not be tolerated.

Looking towards this year’s festival, I will mostly be around the Galleon Bar, and will be available for anyone who needs a friendly face to talk to or to report any incidents to. Further info on this to follow soon.

Rebellion is a festival that I have loved and played at for many years and I want people to feel safe, welcomed, and looked after here. I will do my best to support Rebellion on this journey, and most importantly do my best to ensure that all attendees and band members are treated with respect, and that any abuse they face is treated seriously. Feel free to drop me an email on
[email protected].

Thanks!

For the avoidance of doubt - here’s a screenshot of our very first business plan written in 2016 where artist development is firmly stated as part our core activity.

We’re so excited that finally with support (this wasn’t our first attempt at getting funding for this type of activity) we’re able to do this as our new full programme rather than with one-off masterclasses & workshops like we’ve done in the past…

We’re also super pleased to be able to offer this range of opportunities for FY postcode people first and foremost!

And to work with some of our favourite theatre folks - some of whom we’ve known for many years, some who are brand new to us! We can’t wait to get in a room with you and leave the online space for a while & have some much needed playtime, togetherness & specifically performance skills development that we look forward to being put into practice at our lovely new space

The clue is in the name folks - let’s all keep working together to achieve more creative activity here in the NW!

And if do have any questions - please do feel free to ask…
💕🙏

Just brilliant!

Tonight is a celebration for my husband and his Waterloo family. He was awarded best music venue in the country and it was truly deserved. 🙌

Any story of success has a back story of struggle and although my husband has never shared his I hope that one day he will to inspire others .

I’ve watched him pour his heart and soul into something he cares deeply and passionately about. There were times during the pandemic that I thought he’d throw in the towel but there was no way that he was going to let others down who were relying on him to keep going.

The support he gets from the Waterloo family is truly heart warming and I know that he’s forever grateful.

So if there’s something that your heart and soul is calling for then do it.

Do what lights you up and live your life to the fullest.

There is no second chances so you might as well live a life worth living.

Congratulations Ian Fletcher and team Waterloo ❤️

Loving this 💕

Great quote to start 💜

• With it being international women’s day tomorrow I thought I’d share with you one of my favourite quotes.
I think this one puts it into perspective for those who still don’t quite get what feminism is, for those who think we are trying to tear men down.

I think sometimes people forget that feminism isn’t about being better than men it’s about being treated the same as men politically, socially and economically.

When you tell someone you’re a feminist it’s still met with an eye roll and a comment like “Oh! She’s one of them!” and we aren’t asking for much from you now. Just for the basics, like to be treated with dignity and respect and not to be judged on the choices we make with our minds and our bodies.

There’s enough room for all of us at the top! We ain't here to tear you down just the fu***ng patriarchy.

Look at this beautiful creation by the gorgeous artist Tina Dempsey 😍😍😍
We say yes please to more fun on our streets, more colour in our lives & more places to sit and see the fabulous folk of blackpool go by…
Thanks Blackpool Council

An eye-catching piece of public art located on Edward Street in the town centre has been installed this morning.

The contemporary bench design is the creation of local artist, Tina Dempsey.

It’s the second bench Tina has designed for the town centre with the ‘Fancie Bench’ on King’s Square already becoming a popular local landmark opposite St John’s C of E Primary School.

The public art project is part of ongoing work taking place to regenerate the town centre and has been funded by an external grant through the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership’s Growth Deal.
