Sharon, Hazel and Fiona delivered an oral health workshop to the new S2’s at Queen Margaret Academy in Ayr today. The pupils were so engaged & well behaved ⭐️! Thank you to the staff & pupils, we had a lovely day 😁

When we eat or drink anything acidic, it causes our enamel (outer surface of the tooth) to become softer. If this happens often, the enamel can be worn away, making our teeth sensitive.

⭐️ Keep acidic drinks to meal times and drink plain water or milk between meals.

Is your Dental check-up over due?

In Scotland NHS dental check-ups are FREE!
You should attend the dentist for a check-up once yearly or as often as the dentist recommends.

When we visit the dentist for our checkup, they check our mouth for any signs of mouth cancer. You should do a self-check of your own mouth once per month at home.

Always be . If you spot anything unusual, get it checked! 😘

Davina and Helen had a busy day at Kilbirnie Health Centre today. They met Katie & Graham from One Dental Care, which is based in the health centre.

Chewing sugar-free gum is GOOD for our teeth!

🌟 chewing gum increases saliva flow in our mouth, helping to rinse acids from food off of our teeth 👍

Teething usually starts around 6 months of age, but it can begin at any time between the ages of 3 and 12 months
Most children will have all of their milk teeth by the time they are 2 1/2 years old.

Hazel and Helen had a busy day on Friday at the dementia and dalerium caring and sharing event at Centre Stage.

If we do not brush our teeth effectively, we risk getting gum disease. If left to progress it can result in loose teeth and even tooth loss. As well as brushing you should be cleaning in between teeth to get all the hard-to-reach areas.
