Another great rehearsal last night for our concert at All Saints, Church, Ockbrook, on 25th November. We assure you the toys surrounding us are for the church’s toddler group which also uses the hall!

We are delighted to once again be playing as part of the Ripley Festival and hope you can all join us for our next concert at All Saints Church, Ripley, Derbyshire, on the evening of Tuesday, 11th July.

Sandwiched between 19th century works by Beethoven (Ruins of Athens Overture and Turkish March) and Kalliwoda (Symphony No. 1) will be two pieces from the 20th century: Holst's Marching Song (1906) and McCarty's Trombone Sonata (1962). We will be joined for the McCartny by local trombonist and educator Ben Henderson.

And what a bargain this will be! Once again tickets are just £5 with under 18s free, available in advance via Steve Freeborn (phone or text 07977 058294) or from White's Jewellers, Ripley, or on the door.

FRENCH HORN PLAYER
for our concert at Ilkeston, Derbyshire, on Saturday, 25th March. Please see the attached poster and our website j26.org.uk for further details. We currently only have one permanent horn player and he is happy for a dep to play either first or second, or to share parts, whichever is best.

Tickets for our next concert are now on sale! We will be presenting a "Concert of Firsts and Lasts" at St Mary's Church on the Market Place in Ilkeston on Saturday, 25th March.

The main work will be Haydn's Symphony No. 104 (his last) and we will also be playing earliest or last works by other composers including Mozart and Elgar.

We were excited to use the newly renovated All Saints’ Church, excellently adapted for community use. It will be our rehearsal space from January and will possibly be a regular concert venue for us.

Are you in the East Midlands? J26 Sinfonietta is looking for some more permanent players.

We currently require a 2nd horn and of course would also like to add to our string section particularly violas, cellos and a double bass; more violinists would be very welcome too. 🎻🎶

We normally rehearse twice a month during term time at Trowell (easily accessed from the Nottingham and Derby areas and the M1) and perform three times a year.

The good news is that J26 is up and running again. We are delighted to be able to play music together at last and have an interesting selection of repertoire to rehearse.

We are very much in need of STRING PLAYERS !!!
If you play or know someone who does, please get in contact.
We’re a friendly bunch who rehearse 2-3 times a month on Tuesday evenings , in Trowell which is located on the Derby side of Nottingham .
The only requirement is that you are roughly Grade 8 standard.
