An extremely beautiful and difficult to find antique Tabriz room size carpet, in a very unusual ochre colourway, dating to the 1920’s. Characterised by the central medallion surrounded by intricate floral and geometric patterns, this Tabriz is an example of the fine workmanship coupled with good quality materials associated with rugs from this region of Iran. So frequently these rugs are in strong vibrant reds and blues, this is a great opportunity to acquire one in a muted bit equally striking colour. Low pile in some places (see photos), but still in good condition for its age.

A striking and vibrant red pair of tall cylindrical Toleware style lamps, from America c.1970. A brass square base with gilt metal collars and a mounted brass American Eagle. Re-wired. In overall good condition, with some marks and minor spots of paint loss adding to the vintage feel of this splendid pair of lamps.

A fabulous and large room size Aubusson style carpet. These rugs were introduced in the early 17th century when weavers started to create tapestries and wall hangings for castles and large homes. Traditionally, these handwoven flat-weave carpets are tightly woven in good quality wool on horizontal looms - much the same as traditional Persian rugs, so the absence of a pile ensures a flat surface with the technical carving highlighting the main pattern. In good overall condition, with minor wear commensurate with age. Dusky pink~orange, much like Farrow & Ball ‘Red Earth’

A super 19th century Anglesey oak dresser which is fresh to the market having come from a private collection. With three shelf rack with painted green backboards and shelves; shaped sides, the base having three opening top drawers above three central blind drawers. On shaped apron flanked by gun barrel pilasters.

Extremely good Edwardian mahogany drapers counter. The top with raised back and moulded edges and the front with recessed panel door with two adjustable shelves inside, flanked each side by seven drawers all mahogany lined with good brass canopy handles and escutcheons on a plinth base. The locks (no key/s) stamped ‘Gibbons of Wolverhampton’. Most likely James Gibbons, St John’s works, Church Lane, Wolverhampton and one of the oldest established lockmaking businesses in Britain. Examples of their work can be found in the Houses of Parliament and even Buckingham Palace. Signifying a piece of furniture or high quality.

A large and good quality thick pile Hamadan carpet. Beautiful and durable, suitable for any use. Similar in structure to the Bidjar carpets, the colours are dominated by differing blues and reds. Hand knotted in the traditional manner, this carpet retains good colour and little wear, despite being around 70-80 years old.
