Our GP trainee's along with other junior doctors, are taking industrial action over a real terms pay cut of more than 26% since 2008. As our GP Registrar's are not in practice from Thursday 13th July to Tuesday 18th, we will have fewer appointments than normal. If you think your problem can be dealt with on a non strike day, we'd be grateful if you could call back. This third round of strike action we finish at 7am on Tuesday 18th July at 7.00am. Thank you for your support and we're sorry for any inconvenience

Veterans' healthcare toolkit: Veteran friendly GP practice accreditation 07/11/2022

We at the Wolverhampton Road Surgery are proud to be an accredited Veteran Friendly GP Practice and to honour veterans this Remembrance Day.

More than half of veterans (52%) have a long-term illness or disability, yet research suggests many may be reluctant to seek support for their issues, particularly if they feel they may not be understood.

With an estimated two million veterans in the UK, a GP practice, like ours, may see a veteran patient every day on average. Being able to identify and support veteran patients is crucial to ensuring best outcomes, as research shows that some veteran patients may face different health challenges to the general population.
It’s fantastic being able to make a positive impact on our veteran community. The accreditation process is simple and quick and offers plenty of training, information and guidance for the whole practice to help us better meet the needs of veteran patients.
We’d encourage other practices to sign up at

Veterans' healthcare toolkit: Veteran friendly GP practice accreditation When you become a Veteran Friendly practice, you gain access to a range of guidance for GPs on the care of patients who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families.
