Moorgate Care Home is looking to recruit a maintence person to join our friendly team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and multi-skilled person to help ensure a safe environment for our care home.

Candidates must have good awareness and knowledge of skills required to update and maintain the premises. Basic to intermediate skills in general DIY/maintenance is essential for this role.

Applicants will need to own transport as the role will require some on-call duties (will be discussed in more detail to successful applicant).

You will also be required to read and write basic reports (PAT testing & Health and safety procedures as part of regulations).

Day to Day:
• Make sure we have a safe and well-maintained environment, creating attractive surroundings so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well.
• It is important our home gives the right first impression and that every area is well maintained and looks its best each day.
• The role offers plenty of variety as you undertake a range of tasks within the home and surrounding premises. You could be fixing a leaky tap one minute to liaising with contractors another.

Requirements:
• Experience of property maintenance and be able to turn your hand to a range of basic tasks in order to keep the home maintained.
• Caring and patience to work in this environment.
• As with all our employees, you will be expected to work within our staff values and promote these at all times by being an effective communicator, passionate about your work, encouraging team working and having a positive attitude.
• Overall, you should have pride in your work and aim to provide a safe and well-maintained home for our residents.
• Able to work autonomously without supervision.

Work types include:
• Minor plumbing jobs (changing taps etc)
• Minor electrical works – changing broken sockets etc
• Decorating/Making good
• Carpentry (adjusting doors/ tables/ cabinets etc
• General Repairs/DIY
• General lifting & shifting
• Working at height
• Carrying out various repair work throughout the building as required, following specifications and can handle any unexpected problems.

The role will involve working independently and therefore the successful candidate will be trustworthy and conscientious.

**Important** Applicant must be double vaccinated and be able to provide proof of vaccines.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 17:00, 1 hour for lunch

We are looking for full time applicants but would consider 2 x part-time individuals as part of a job share if part time is required.

Salary: Good rates of pay, salary rates available upon request.

We are looking for a kitchen assistant to join our friendly team. Main duties to include helping to keep the kitchen clean and tidy, emptying and loading the dishwasher and assisting the cook as required. Experience not necessary as full training will be provided.
The available shifts are 10am-2pm & 4pm-7pm Monday to Sunday, the successful person can have flexible shifts to work around their lives. Part time and full time available.
Age from 16 years old upwards, we are able to offer rates above NMW and the rate can be discussed on application.
