Looking for an experienced Podiatrist
Are you a Podiatrist with experience looking for a change from the NHS or bored your existing workload?
Grant Chiropody and Podiatry, and our sister company First For Footcare, have an exciting opportunity for you to join our amazing team in Bo’ness and Falkirk. We are a three generation family practice, established 74 years ago.
We understand that you may be looking for a more challenging role, with a varied caseload and more autonomy of your practice. We are looking for a podiatrist passionate about patient care to provide a professional caring service to our patients.
This role will mostly involve domicillary practice working in various settings including nursing homes, care homes and residential homes. The caseload is diverse covering routine care and wound care.
Working as a lone worker can be daunting but you would also be a part of a supportive wider team. This would include;
- Mentoring
- In house CPD
- Regular team meetings
-Team social events
We look for professionals who are:
-Committed to building our team, culture, and business
- Progressive in their professional and their own personal development as a clinician
-Willing to go that extra mile to provide excellent patient care
The role is 24 hours per week, carried out over 5 days. Working days and hours can be negotiated for flexibility.
Salary; Self-employed on a fee sharing basis

- Driver's license and use of a car
Location; Central Scotland, Falkirk, Bo’ness and the surrounding areas

Achilles tendon workshop for Podiatrists
Covering assessment to treatment and rehabilitation, this full day workshop will take the form of multi-disciplinary sessions including:
- Hands on diagnostic ultrasound demonstration
- Rehabilitation and exercise prescription
- Using technology (such as 3d gait analysis and force plate)
- High volume injection therapy

We were so glad to host a number of Leading Podiatrists to tonight’s double-whammy CPD night, this time aimed at students only.
Simultaneously taking up both lecture suites we welcomed members completing life support CPD as well as introducing new students into the Branch to learn about what the branch can do for them. This was not a meet the employers day, but we were so delighted to have so many offers from keen employers. The purpose of tonight was to ensure that undergraduate students felt able to join our branch once they leave University, so that they may gain the support our current members enjoy.
Thankyou to Claire Ross, head of NHS Lothian Podiatry service, to Lorna Jarrett (Advanced Diabetes Podiatrist, NHS Lothian), Graham Pirrie and Emma McConnachie from the College of Podiatry, Evelyn Weir (Podiatry Lecturer QMU) as well as our fantastic committee (Anne Sibbald, Dale Ross, Jane Muir, Jacqui Baggaley, Lorna Jarrett, Nikki Grant and Adam Smith) who volunteer tirelessly round the year, to ensure these Events can happen.
Finally, and certainly not least, we say a massive thanks to all the students who attended- we hope to see you back!!! 🦶💛

The Flexitol UK Tomorrow's Podiatry Awards were student-led, as a result, two of the awards could only be nominated by students.
The first of these awards was Inspirational Podiatrist of the Year and the Second is this one, the Educator of the Year. This award recognises excellent teaching wherever it happens. Teachers can inspire, enthuse and motivate students; furthering their quest for knowledge and understanding."
