A morning stroll along the banks of the River Nidd with this handsome Jack Russell. Off-lead, he displayed an impressive awareness of his owner's whereabouts, often looking back to ensure we weren't too far behind as he trotted ahead to explore and sniff around. As he would look or return to us I would capture some images. The route we walked for this photo session was his daily walk. With the dog framed in the backdrop the owner knew so well it added a special touch to the session, making the final photos more memorable for them. While we have many beautiful locations at our disposal for photo sessions, we're more than happy to accommodate your preferences. If you'd like to capture your furry friend in a place that holds sentimental value or during one of your regular walks, just let us know.

A portrait from a fun photo session with a family of Irish Setters.
This photo session took place in a secure dog field on the edge of Leeds. As we had half a dozen dogs at the session we thought it would be safer and more relaxed in a secure space.
If you would feel more comfortable having your photo session at a dog park we are more than happy to do that. The way in which we shoot and retouch the images can often hide distracting backgrounds such as fences. We have access to a selection of fields around the region that we can recommend. Please be aware that there is an additional charge for the hiring of secure fields.

Finding the Perfect Shot: It's All About Comfort and Natural Moments

As a dog photographer, I’ve learned that the best photos come when both dogs and their humans are feeling relaxed and at ease. Sometimes, a pup just isn’t interested in posing in that perfect spot we had in mind — and that’s okay! Instead of trying to coax them into position, which can make everyone a bit tense, we prefer to take a step back, give them some time, and let them lead the way.

It’s always more rewarding to capture your dog in their element — whether it’s chasing a favorite toy, lounging in the grass, or simply being their playful selves — than to force a pose that doesn’t feel right. The result? Authentic, joyful images that truly reflect your dog's unique personality.

Remember, the most beautiful shots are often the ones where your dog is just being themselves. Let’s create some unforgettable memories together!

With temperatures on the rise this week, we’ve had to reschedule a photo session. It’s not just bad weather that can cause us to change our plans — heat can be a real challenge too! To keep your pups comfy and happy, we prefer to schedule sessions earlier in the morning or later in the day when it’s cooler.

Take our fluffy lad in the pic, for example. He’ll happily lie outside in snow and rain, but anything over 15°C and he’s pretty much done. Because we want your dog to feel their best during the shoot, when it looks like it might be getting up towards 20°C, we’ll always get in touch with you to chat about rescheduling if necessary.

We’re all about capturing the best moments, and while those big, panting smiles can be adorable, you might prefer your photos without tongues hanging out everywhere. 😅

We’ll keep an eye on the weather and make sure your furry friend is always safe and feeling their best during our sessions.

Dogs are beloved members of the family, and capturing their moments and memories through photography allows them to be cherished forever. As a dog photographer I have the privilege of freezing special moments in time, whether it's a puppy's playful antics, the bond between a dog and their owner, or an Old Soul enjoying a wander through a summer meadow.
