New identity I have created for Flax Fest. Happening this September, with the main exhibition in Dunfermline and other events across Fife, it is a cultural celebration of flax and linen across art, design and industry.

FIFE’S MUSEUMS CLUB TOGETHER TO REACH MORE PEOPLE IN FIFE

Fife has a wealth of museums and heritage centres, from volunteer-run gems to exhibitions showing objects of important national and international significance. Now, locals and tourists alike will find it easier to find great places to visit in Fife, through a new leaflet that will become commonly accessible across the Kingdom.

Funding from Museum and Galleries Scotland has helped the Fife Museums Forum produce an eye-catching and accessible way for more people to find out about where they can visit and what they can see in their local area.

Freshly designed by Lochgelly-based Mint Modern Creative , 15,000 of the leaflets have been printed and will be popping up in local museums, libraries, information and visitor centres in and around Fife. The leaflet provides key information and access details for 16 museums across Fife. Welcome to Fife have added a QR code to make it even easier to discover more about each of the venues.

Connecting Fife's Stories

I am excited to present a free guide I have created and designed in collaboration with the Fife Museum Forum. This guide features award-winning museums, galleries, and cultural destinations across the Kingdom of Fife. This guide is designed to help you explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage that Fife has to offer.

The fold-out map included in this guide features bold and vibrant graphics and provides detailed information on the 16 members of the Fife Museum Forum. From historical landmarks to contemporary art, there's something for everyone.

Who knew Fife had so many interesting and mostly free places to visit? This guide aims to encourage both locals and visitors to discover the wealth of cultural sites available in Fife.

With Levenmouth Railway opening at the beginning of June, opening up lots of opportunities for businesses, locals, and visitors to the area. There has been lots of activity in the area to promote this.

One of which has been this free pocket-size, foldable guide, and map, highlighting all that is on offer in the area. Collaborating with Welcome to Fife and Levenmouth Local Tourist Association to create this.

Introducing the new logo for Sustainable Tourism Fife!

A leaf crown emblem - a symbol of unity, nature, and heritage all in one!

Each leaf represents one of Fife's six vibrant tourism areas, symbolising collaboration and growth.

The crown shape nods to Fife's rich history as the "Kingdom of Fife," while the leaves speak to the commitment to preserving our environment and cultural heritage.

It's more than just a logo; it's a visual representation of the mission towards a sustainable and thriving Fife.

I love all things retail, the high street is not dead, its time to adapt and work out ways to offer hybrid experiences and maximise income on all channels!

What is your expertise?

My expertise lies in crafting a consistently memorable brand experience by seamlessly aligning your products, platforms, and physical spaces. Whether it's a retail space, a brand event, a website, or a digital/social campaign, I ensure that every touchpoint resonates emotionally with the audience.

What is your favourite kind of project to work on?

My favourite projects revolve around retail and event experiences. I'm passionate about crafting the entire customer journey—from point of sale and engaging touchpoints to visual merchandising, shop layout and interior design, packaging, and brand events. Working with the senses to create a memorable experience is particularly exciting for me.

I find joy in designing journeys that not only leave a lasting impression on customers but also drive commercial success for the client. It's about striking the right balance between a memorable brand experience and ensuring it's commercially viable, resulting in increased sales.

The evolving landscape of online shopping adds an intriguing dimension to these projects. I enjoy exploring ways to seamlessly integrate both online and offline elements, creating a hybrid shopping experience that adapts to the changing preferences of consumers. It's a dynamic and creative process that keeps me inspired and enthusiastic about every retail-focused project I undertake.

What drew you to work specifically with food, drink, hospitality, and tourism clients?

These industries are all about creating special experiences, emotional connections and exploring the senses. Whether it's the joy of great food and drink 🍽,🍷 the warmth of hospitality, or the excitement of travel ✈️, each brand has a unique story to tell.

I'm drawn to the diversity and creativity in these sectors, and I enjoy helping businesses share their stories and make lasting connections with people.

How would you describe your design style in three words, and how does it reflect your approach to brand strategy?

My signature style is clean, intentional, and energetic with a love for pops of colour, contrast, and texture. I focus on thoughtful details and simplicity, following a "less is more" ethos. This reflects my approach to brand strategy by prioritising simplicity to ensure clear communication and my dedication to creating designs that are both purposeful and visually refined.

1. What’s in a name?

Tell us why your business is called Mint Modern Creative?

Beside a mojito being my favourite cocktail 🍸 , the name Mint Modern reflects my business's core values and mission. Embracing the symbolic qualities of mint 🌿 , Mint Modern symbolises dedication to purifying and elevating brands, promoting mental clarity, and providing fresh, modern design solutions that leave a lasting positive impact.

Additionally, mint is a symbol of hospitality. It serves as a sensory trigger, evoking touch, taste, smell, and colour—elements that resonate with the approach taken in my creative process.

It is so tough out there just now and I feel for businesses. Keep positive (a message I have to tell myself often) ride the wave, support each other, and don't be afraid to ask for help. The last one is key!

I'm so thankful to all my clients this year who have trusted me with their business, those who have supported me and believed in me, and those who have pushed me to go beyond what I thought was possible!

As you can see we have gone for a complete new look and brand, we had been pink for 5 years and ready for a change. We look forward to seeing all our new and existing brides. I have been partnering with Welcome to Fife and local tourism association Heartlands of Fife, (one of 6 tourism areas in Fife) to update their promotional materials.

The Z-card format used for the marketing is a practical pocket-sized folded leaflet, and will be distributed in hotels, visitor centres, museums, shops, and tourist attractions.

Being from the Heartlands area, this collaboration is extra special to me. I'm thrilled to contribute to promoting my own community and showcasing the kingdom's natural beauty, and attractions it has to offer!
