Happy !

Every July 16th since 2009, we celebrate the culture and the art of drag 💖 We'd love to hear from anyone heading to a show, party or competition tonight - let us know what the drag community means to you 🫶

Just to go back to basics for a minute:

- Drag is dressing up or present yourself differently from your everyday gender, usually in a performance.

- Dragging is not an indicator of a person’s gender identity.

- A drag queen or king is not the same thing as a trans person.

- Many people who do drag are LGBTQ+ but drag performers can have any s*xual orientation or gender identity.

We think that anyone can enjoy drag, so whether you're watching your first drag performance or going on stage for the hundredth time, we send love and celebrations!

Please welcome Alex Musto to to the YTTT team!

Associate Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapist

Alex says:

"My approach is to ensure that you feel comfortable and relaxed. Don’t be afraid to swear, laugh or cry!

I decided to train as a Psychos*xual and Relationship therapist having worked as a social worker for most of my career. Over the years I came to recognise the need for people to have a safe and supportive environment to discuss their difficulties and desires around s*x and relationships, and to facilitate a sense of hope where there have been difficulties.

I believe very strongly in the interconnectedness of our s*xuality and general wellbeing."

Online sessions with Alex cost £35 for individuals and £55 for couples. To find out more about her ethos, visit our website or book in a free 15 minute call:

It's and we think that's a reason to celebrate! Whether romantic or between loved family and friends, kissing is a wonderful part of the human experience... but how much do you know about it?

- Kissing may or may not be an instinctual human behaviour. Although seen in many cultures and communities across the world, not all groups have evolved to kiss as a sign of affection. This means it could be more of a learned behaviour.

- Kissing is good for you! Releasing 'happy hormones' as well as building up our immune systems as a result of saliva sharing!

- Most people seem to lean to the right when they kiss, whether they mean to or not.

- Kissing uses approximately 146 muscles (although we think this must vary considerably depending on the type of kiss...)

- According to Guinness World Records, the longest kiss ever lasted 58 hours 35 minutes.

- The study of kissing is called philematology and fear of kissing is known as philemaphobia.

We hope you enjoyed these, and perhaps they inspired you to share some love this weekend # # #

All our Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapists are members of COSRT (College of S*xual & Relationship Therapists) and share this statement:

"Recent weeks have seen multiple, distressing reports about the behaviours of a therapist who used physical touch with a Service User – culminating in s*xual acts.

It is vital that we are clear as the professional body for Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapists…

Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapies are strictly talk-based therapies. They do not involve physical touch. They do not entail any medical procedures or examinations.

At no point should any talking therapy practitioner seek to engage in physical touch as part of the talking therapy. It is as simple as that.”

Indeed, COSRT goes further.

“Our Members must not engage in s*xual contact or intimate relationships with Service Users (or their close contacts), even outside the confines of the therapy intervention.

To help protect the public we ensure that COSRT Members are subject to rigorous standards that help protect the public. Detailed Codes of Ethics lay out expectations for professional conduct including touch. And a comprehensive Conduct Procedure is in place to hold Members to account when they do not meet expectations."

If you have any concerns or uncertainty about what to expect in your therapy sessions, please don't hesitate to get in touch:

The reason that the World Federation of Incontinent Patients WFIP hosts a 'World Continence Week' every year is to encourage conversation, and inspire those struggling to get help rather than suffering in silence.

At YTTT, our therapists are here to meet you without judgement, whatever you are finding difficult, be it physical or emotional. In particular, Helen Bright-Gerrie focuses on treating pelvic floor issues caused by pelvic floor weakness (e.g. urinary/faecal incontinence, prolapse, post-natal recovery, haemorrhoids, overactive bladder, and many more).

Helen is trained in numerous approaches including scientific and holistic practices, so that she can tailor therapy to meet the needs of every individual.

Working with a therapist in training has many advantages. Here are our Top 5:

1. Fresh Perspectives

Therapists in training inject vitality, fresh ideas and diverse perspectives - with the latest research and up-to-date evidence-based practices.

2. Lower Costs

An essential part of therapy training is gaining experience – usually 150 hours – working in a therapy practice. This Clinical Placement enables us to offer much lower cost therapy.

3. Smaller Caseloads

Clients get a high level of reflection and consideration between sessions, and trainees generally have better availability because they don’t have a full caseload.

4. Greater Supervision

A therapist in training has one hour of supervision for every six client sessions. Their work is closely reviewed and guided by experienced and knowledgeable supervisors (this happens outside your own session, there isn't an extra person in the room!)

5. Advocacy for Diversity and Inclusion

Today’s therapy training has a far greater focus on diversity and inclusion than ever before, including gender, s*xuality, relationships, race, religion, culture, disability and neurodiversity.

And last but not least, trainee therapists are the future of the profession! Supporting emerging Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapists will ensure a steady flow of skilled professionals equipped to meet the evolving needs of people in today’s world.

5 Great Reasons To Work With A Therapist In Training 12/06/2024

Want to know more about the training our Associate Therapists are doing?

They are all in their final year of three prestigious Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapy training programmes:

🔸 The London Diploma in Psychos*xual and Relationship Therapy

🔸 The Contemporary Institute of Clinical S*xology’s Diploma in Clinical S*xology and Relationship Therapy

🔸 University Campus Doncaster’s MSc in Contemporary Psychos*xual Therapy

An essential part of that training is gaining clinical experience working in a therapy practice committed to supporting their development.

Our latest blog post explores why low-cost sessions with therapists in training can be an amazing way to access the support you are looking for:

"Tomorrow night, Stonewall."

Three words written on a New York pavement in 1969, preceding a landmark moment for gay rights in the US (and subsequently the UK).

Pride is celebrated every June to commemorate the Stonewall riots of June 1969, where patrons of the Stonewall Inn resisted the police. For Pride month, we share the message of love and diversity, as well as raising awareness of how much is still to be done.

Can you take a moment this month to educate yourself or someone else about the movement towards equality?

Happy Pride Month from all of us!

Happy Pride Month!

A time when we celebrate LGBTQ+ communities all over the world. June is the month of Pride because of the landmark Stonewall protests in June 1669 - a turning point for gay rights in the US, and then the wider world.

In the UK, being gay was a crime until 1967 🤬

In 1972, the first official UK Pride festival took place, in London 🏳️‍🌈

In 2002, the law was changed to allow same s*x couples to adopt children 👨‍👨‍👦

Pride is both a celebration of diversity, and a reminder of struggles still faced by so many. Your Time To Talk is proudly a safe space for everyone 🙏

We all tell ourselves stories about our relationships. How often have you said 'I always date the ... ones' or 'it always ends in ...'?

Expert S3x and Relationship therapy helps our clients gain awareness of the stories they are telling about their relationships, and take a look at any aspects of them they'd like to change.

As well as highly qualified experts, we also have associate therapists who offer low-cost therapy whilst they complete their specialist training (they are already qualified in a more generalised therapy.) If you would like to book a session with any of our team, please get in touch:

As we come to the end of International Ma********on Month, we thought we’d share a little of the history behind it.

In the mid-1990s Dr. Joycelyn Elders, Surgeon General in the US at the time, famously said, “..., I think that ma********on is something that is a part of human s*xuality and it's a part of something that perhaps should be taught. But we've not even taught our children the very basics.” Sadly this, and other bold statements, led to her forced resignation.

However, a notorious s*x shop ‘Good Vibrations’ took action in 1995 and declared May National Ma********on Month. Since then, it's grown to become International Ma********on Month.

Sadly though, so many of us were brought up to believe touching our own bodies and indulging in self-pleasure was wrong or sinful.

Our expert S*x and Relationship Therapists can help you explore any shame or hesitation you have around pleasure and s*x, both with yourself or with others.

Has your s*x life ever had an impact on your mental health?

For most people the answer is yes, even if we don't often talk about it very much! Sometimes the hardest person to talk about s*x with is the person or people you're having it with! We understand this, and our specialist therapists help you move towards a place of being more comfortable in communicating your wants and needs.

This week there is a huge national focus on mental health awareness, and we're thinking about the importance that relationships can have on overall emotional wellbeing.

An issue or rift in a relationship, or perhaps absence of the kind of relationships you'd like in your life, can be a major source of distress. Our therapists understand this, which is why we've all chosen to dedicate our work to S3x & Relationship Therapy in particular.

Our therapists Amanda, Di, Charlie, Gordon, Helen and Nicole are Integrative Psychotherapists, meaning that we combine different therapeutic approaches and tools to fit the needs of each individual client.

We work with all genders, s*xualities, erotic desires and practices, whether you are in intimate relationships, including couples, polycules, and all shapes and sizes of multi-partner relationships.

Therapy Fact: You don’t have to stick with the first therapist you meet.

Therapy Fact: You don’t have to stick with the first therapist you meet.

We wanted to zoom in on one of the points from our therapist Zoe's latest blog - the fact that you can meet several therapists and not feel obliged to work with the first (or even second) one you speak to!

It may be that you have a few sessions but it still doesn’t feel like the right fit. If this happens, it’s completely acceptable to explore finding a different therapist.

It can be difficult to build trust, open up and experience change if you don’t feel a connection, which is why a good therapist will always understand if you don't continue your sessions with them.

All our therapists offer a free 15-minute consultation, which you can book via our website: https://yourtimetotalk.net Whilst this helps you to gauge chemistry, there's still no obligation involved.

We look forward to hearing from you!
