The Conservatives have hammered Lancaster City Council. They have slashed government support to our area by 73% since 2010. They crashed the economy, and we are paying the price. Lancaster City Council needs a change – we need a Labour government to get this country moving again

Please let the police know if you witnessed any of the incidents seen across Morecambe this morning.

You can contact them on 101 or email them at [email protected]

Awful to see yet more N**i graffiti this morning, this time sprayed on the War Memorial. I’m not going to show the actual graffiti because that’s just giving the offenders the platform they desperately want.

I, like many other families in Morecambe have a relative named on that memorial and it’s utterly disgusting that an individual or individuals chose to deface it.

I have reported it to the police and the public realm team and expect it to be cleaned up shortly. There have been additional reports of this kind of graffiti at Jump Rush and the town centre as well.

We need to catch these people, so if you have any information please do let the police know on 101 or email to [email protected]

We’ve been having lots and lots of lovely conversations with residents all across the constituency this weekend from Millhead in Carnforth, Skerton, all over Morecambe in Poulton, Westgate and the West End and over to Heysham.

We have reported potholes, broken manhole covers and fly tipping, picked up case work, told people about voter id and generally had great conversations. We’ve also delivered an awful lot of leaflets!

Thank you to everyone that took the time to speak to us.

Labour has a plan to tackle the Tory cost of living crisis and revitalise our high streets. We would:

✂️ Cut business rates
⏰ Stamp out late payments
⚡ Cut energy bills
🛍️ Revamp empty shops
👮‍♀️ Tackle antisocial behaviour with 13,000 more neighbourhood police and PSCOs

We doorknock all year round, not just at election time, however we were out this weekend to support your local Candidates for May 2023, Terrie Metcalfe for Poulton and Matt Panesh Labour

Lots of issues coming up on the doorstep including Matt's campaign against United Utilities dumping raw sewage in our bay and people not realising that they will have to take identification when they go to vote this time.

Please do make sure you have an appropriate form of id otherwise, you will be turned away, you can find out more information including acceptable forms of id on the Electoral Commission website or alternatively register for a postal vote

This week Lancashire Conservatives
1) voted against Labour's attempt to ban fracking in Parliament and
2) at the county council, watered down an anti-fracking motion that all other parties signed up to. They used their majority to remove any reference to climate change!
Fracking won't help with energy security and we should invest in low-carbon energy instead, as Labour plans to with our green energy investment plan.
