Happy !
Soil is amazing. It's the heart and soul of our planet, but too often we think of it as dirt!πͺ±
Healthy soils let us grow healthy food, they capture carbon, and protect us from floods and drought. We can't live without them.π±
Show some love for soil this World Soil Day, and let the world know how important soil is for us and our planet. Find out how you can get involved:https://soilassociation.co/3EUP9Rn
It's π On a farm, mud is life. Whether it's because you're growing with it, walking through it, or covered in it. It is everywhere in our agricultural landscapes, as well as in your boots and often on your face.
In biodynamic farming, good soil is where good food starts. Below the surface, an enormous ecosystem of life works in a delicate and still largely mysterious balance, helping to grow the plants that both you and our livestock eat.
So, even though it's another world 'something' day, it's good to take a moment to think about what's underneath your feet.
Tablehurst Biodynamic Garlic - grown in our fields and dried in our barn, now available in the Tablehurst Farm shop.
Recipe for Roasting Garlic
6 whole Tablehurst garlic bulbs
4 tablespoons Organic olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
Remove the loose outer skin from each bulb of garlic, stopping when you start to see the outline of the individual cloves. Don't loosen the cloves or remove all of the papery skin.
Turn the whole bulb of garlic onto its side. With a sharp knife, cut off the pointed top of the bulb to reveal the raw cloves.
Drizzle 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons of olive oil over the cut surface and sides of each bulb. Sprinkle with salt.
Place the garlic in the oven and roast for 40 to 45 minutes, until the cloves are soft, caramelized, and golden brown on top.
Enjoy with your roast dinner and sharing with friends.
