It’s great to be travelling again…

Arrived in Manchester airport for my next coaching assignment. Question is, where am I travelling to?

“This game is about making shapes.” If you shape correctly for the shot, you’re most likely to play it correctly.

I’ve used this quote numerous times and posted on here.

Imagine my surprise when my 10 year old student Anna uses my quote to me and then presents me with this picture whilst she was collecting shuttles. Very cute. She’s smart and developing fast as are her sister Elsa and brother Sky.

At last, finally received Yonex Nanoflare 700 Pro. I had to pass on the original 700 Pro that I reviewed and wanted to keep it!

Took the 700 Pro for its first rapid feeding test drive today and it was wonderful! It’s going to be a good day now I’ve got this beauty in my bag!

Yonex Nanoflare 700 Pro Badminton Racket Review 16/09/2024

I don't usually post more than once in a day, but I know people are waiting for this racket review.

Yonex has just released the Nanoflare 700 Pro, and here is my video review.

Have you managed to get your hands on one yet?
If yes, what do you think of it?

Had a great day running my Badminton Doctor camp in Manchester. There were two groups of players with different requirements and problems to diagnose and treat. A great bunch of players. Thank you for your effort and energy throughout the day!

I was assisted by my son James and my wife Angie. She helped with feeding players and clearing up shuttles in addition to the admin behind the scenes.

She sent me this photo of me coaching one group. I thought I’d invite you to caption it…

The new badminton season has begun. I hope it’s a good one for you.

I am often inundated with players racquets at this time. It would seem that everyone requires a freshly strung racquet.

For some players this may be the only restring they have all season. However, is that really the correct approach, visiting a stringer for an annual restring unless of course a string breaks?

String stretches and therefore does not remain at the tension it was restrung at. If a player likes the feel of a freshly strung racquet, how long is it before that feel has dissipated? Surely within a year, the string will have lost so much tension.

With this in mind, how often do you have your racquets restrung?

In this video, I am reviewing the Yonex Nanoflare 800 Pro, a racket that has become a permanent fixture in my bag since its release in November 2023.

I’ll explore its specifications, compare it to its predecessor, and uncover why this racket has surprised even me with its exceptional performance.

Who else has given this racket a try? Let me know what you think of it in the comments...

Thanks Matt for your feedback after my One Day 'Badminton Doctor' coaching in Gillingham last Sunday.

"Thank you for yesterday’s course. It met and exceeded my expectations.

Learning to use my hands , understand the “satellite navigation” and the right technical skills made an impact.

I’m looking forward to practicing my new skills now at club and using my feeding machine."

If you are based in Manchester, my next one is in Sept - find out more here: https://badminton-coach.co.uk/next-events/

Well this is a bit of a flashback picture that showed up in my memories! It's 7 years ago at one of my Lilleshall residential weekends, with Fontaine Wright as a guest coach.

I miss running these weekends, but the venue costs escalated & I couldn't justify passing on the increase to players.

But all is not lost, I am running 1 day 'Badminton Doctor' days instead. The next one is just over a couple of weeks away on July 21st in Gillingham, Kent. There are a few places left, to book, visit:

I am also finalising a Manchester date for early September, so watch this space for more details.
