I am very supportive of this new initiative from the Greeting Card Association encouraging people to continue to send Christmas cards despite the stamp price increase and of course the cost of living crisis we are all going through. The cost of a second class stamp is still only 75p and a Christmas card is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. It would be a shame if this lovely tradition was to become a thing of the past.

I always like to keep an eye on my online bestselling items and it's always interesting to see how it changes month on month. These are the top 9 from mid August to now. I've noticed this year that I am selling fewer individual cards and selling more packs; due, I guess, to the packs being more economical. Number 9 might look surprising but I find snowdrop cards sell year round and people like to plan ahead - hence if I had shown you the top 12 it would have included 2 Christmas card packs!😮

Another deep delve into my card range this morning. Because a lot of these cards were done a long time ago they have naturally dropped to the bottom of my webshop as new designs are brought out. However some are amongst my favourites, particularly this drawing of Tall Bearded Irises with an Orange Tip butterfly. It feels nice giving them some time in the light again. umbelifer.co.uk/shop

The front cover of my 2024 calendar uses this brand new image called Cottage Garden Greenhouse. It's not available yet from in any other form but can be bought as a small print from Stonegate Glass Studio and Gallery in Ingleton where it can be bought framed or unframed. They also have four brand new prints taken from my Garden Border range which are also not currently available anywhere else. Nice gifts I think for garden lovers?

September. A great month for Rudbeckias, asters, sedums, dalias, cannas, red hot pokers and many more beautifully coloured plants. And with some thymes and oregano still flowering the bees are in heaven!
