Aerial Yoga With Ali
Sisters Ali and Rachel offer aerial sessions in hammock, trapeze, hoop and silks. Ali makes guest teaching appearances when she can!
Based in the Knebworth studio, Rachel offers aerial sessions to home educated children and private sessions for adults.
Some fun little scorpion handstands from last week’s Sunday morning group class 🦂 🤸♀️
Bottoms up! 🍑 Some lovely aerial yoga times this morning - even with the more challenging headstands and handstands! 🤸♀️
Always lovely to see Noor , who’s being doing some fab work recently on aerial silks, aerial hammock and static trapeze lately 👏 👏
We did some tricky hiplocks to gazelles in group class at the weekend - well done - you nailed it!
Lovely to be back doing group aerial hammock classes at the Grove school in Harpenden again this morning 😃
Rachel and I have been having a little play around on the aerial hammocks ourselves…and some of the younger members of the family couldn’t resist helping out too 🧒🤸♀️ 👦 🤸♀️
🪜This morning in Ali’s garden we tackled ‘The Ladder’ and a single ankle-hang from Flying Swallow, as well as the ‘dead bug’ exit strategy 💀
Who doesn't love a trusty stag pose?
Hilarity in the studio this week with these girls doing some impromptu aerial yoga triples! And some serious poses too of course...
We've been working on some partner stretches this week...feels so good for the upper back and shoulders!
😊Pretty pleased with my invented hammock sequence (based on similar trapeze moves), which I nailed the first time and then failed to recreate for the next three attempts 🤣. If you’re lucky enough to have a session lined up with Rachel or me on one of my Sunday one-offs, this one could be heading your way soon…
Silks are back! They might be making an appearance at your studio class this week....
Hi 👋 I’m Rachel and for the foreseeable future, I’ll be taking over my sister Ali’s account here as I’m now running aerial hammock and aerial yoga classes in my little studio here in Knebworth!
I currently run small sessions for home-educated children, as well as offering one-to-ones in beginner’s aerial yoga, hammock and static trapeze 🎪
Ali will still be running occasional hammock aerial sessions for her existing students in this space as well. Sadly we have no chickens here - just house bunnies 🐰
Here’s me, Ali and my 6 y/o playing in the space on a rainy Saturday.
Goodbye tent, and goodbye summer, apparently! 😭 My back garden looks strangely empty now.
…more chickens needed, perhaps? 🐓
I took the hoop out for one last spin before the tent comes down tomorrow 😭 Many thanks to all my private clients and my Flapettes aerial hammock group that have been super supportive of my little garden tent set-up! 🥰
Spin spin spin! Fun (if dizzying times) teaching .rukazenkova in a 121 today
All good things must come to an end, right? But the end doesn’t have to be just yet - it’s a sunny September and the tent’s still holding out. Besides which - I enjoy entertaining this gang of aerial reprobates (as well as my far more civilised 121s 🤣) on a Sunday morning too much to stop just yet.
In other news, my sister Rachel will soon be running her own classes for home-ed and SEND children over in Knebworth using this platform fairly shortly! I’m also making the odd teaching appearance back at occasionally these days, which has been good fun. Exciting times 🎪
Really proud of this 7yo I’ve been teaching for improving on her intro to iron cross on silks. Now we’re working on perfecting it and engaging the tummy muscles a little more 💪
Today I got to STEP AWAY FROM THE STRAPS so I could practise teaching new hammock moves to her. Calypso and alternative crossback coming to a tent near you soon...🎪🤸♀️
Even though I’ve had to hugely cut back on all things aerial owing to a pandemic-induced need to get one of those Grown-Up Job Things, I’m still enjoying fun times with my aerial hammock ladies on Sundays, as well as the occasional 121 in the garden tent 💜
I was so chuffed to receive these late Xmas pressies from a few of my aerial yoga ladies today. Check out the creativity and artistry! “Miss F***y Leggs and the Astonishing Flappettes” - genius stuff, 🤣
As I was saying to this lovely bunch today - I will be back on the aerial teaching at some point, but I’m not sure when that will be, as owing to Covid-straitened finances I went and got one of those Grown-Up Job things. However, post-17 May, I will have a few available slots for existing students who were having private sessions with me - I’ll be in touch with them nearer the time. Albans trapeze will also be back in action round about the same time.
In the meantime, let’s hope for some more normal weather soon - I’m done with this snow/sun/hail combo!
