East Hunsbury and Shelfleys is an area that represents the best of Northampton. Hard-working families who contribute to their communities. Families who deserve a secure and positive future.
If elected as your local representative, I will spend my time in post engaging with local groups, listening to residents concerns and pursuing solutions upwards from local to national levels.
I want to break the myth that all politicians (MP's or councillors) are the same. You will hear from me and I will be accountable. So many of you have said that speaking to me and members of my team during the last few weeks has been the first conversation you have had with a public representative. A resident of Collingtree said that in their 15 years of residency their family had never had communication with any councillor or MP until I knocked on their door on a dark and cold winter’s evening recently!
Public engagement with local issues brings a sense of ownership and responsibility. Street by street we can bring people together to make improvements. It will be my aim to encourage residents to participate in the decisions being made at council level to create a town centre we can all be proud of. There will be expertise and creativity to tap into among residents here, we know that through the many conversations we’ve had during our campaign. I will facilitate public participation to bring those expertise and creativity to Northampton’s regeneration.
