Suffered with brake pedal going solid and rough running, Ford said new engine and not under warranty. So vehicle came to us to sort,

Found wet belt had delaminated causing oilway to vacuum pump to block up, in turn the vacuum pump jammed, cam jumped a tooth then damaged the lifters and a cam lobes.

All repaired using genuine ford parts.

Ford have released a service bulletin for 2016-2023 Transits.
This includes rear wheel drive mk8s and Torneos.

The cambelt interval has been changed from 144,000miles to 100,000miles or 6 years which ever comes first.

This ultimately means that if your out of warranty and the belt fails (after 100,000miles or manufactured 2017/2018) you will receive no help from ford regarding a repair. (Previously it was 144,000/10yrs).

We will continue advising cambelts on these are replaced at 60,000miles. With many failing around 60,000-70,000miles.

This is only for Transits. 2018-2022 2.0 Rangers remain 150,000mile intervals for some crazy reason.
