A tiny adaption goes a long way to opening doors.
And the biggest thanks goes to my coach and handler Add Bradshaw his programming how he adapts to teach me and keep me safe.
We won this 4th place e together.

Day 2 4 workouts in two days to go.
What a journey, we Add Bradshaw have put in so much hard work, we are a team he knows how I think and helps me understand the new environment.
Crowed, commentary, lights camera your name on a large board as you enter your lane and that’s before the workout.
Been a day of happy tiers, a PR in the clean, and as always I was listening to everything in workout 4 and got a bit panicked but over the moon with a 4th.
We have a long way to go but joint 2nd at present.

Day 1
107 degrees it was hot.
First workout one I was looking forward too Row, ski and Echo bike finished 2nd.
Then a long wait in the heat think we visited every corner looking for shade and a breeze. But 16:00 second workout. Cross carry and ski, well we did not get to see or touch the sand bag before the gun went. Add Bradshaw was amazing describing what it looked like and how it flopped when they picked it up.
Well I picked it up and it really flopped and folded, thanks to Add he shout just go, guided me down and then 12 kals ski, then pick up the sand bag agin and down to the other end we were moving fast and collided with the judge a little bounce and we carried on going.
Was over in 2.06 came 3rd by 1s from 2nd.
Great day all the athletes did amazing in the heat.
Can not say thank you enough to Add our practice and working together paid off there is a lot of trust and hard-work for him to make sure I am safe and moving fast in the right direction.
Rest and early start tomorrow.

Only went and done it!
Two happy achievements in one post as it’s a journey, I never knew I would be on!
FIRST
In September 22, my CrossFit training was going well key focus was gymnastics. Cut along Long story short I got excited, carried away over trained and gave myself an unhappy tendon, (golfers elbow) opening a door was impossible, putting my own socks on a strugggle, learning new ways, to pull my trousers down for a wee!
Disappointed, frustration as I had never been injured in sport, but support from Luke and Add Bradshaw we changed training and focused on my other weaknesses and started the process to heal my arm.
The sports person in my did not want to miss out on the 2023 CrossFit Games, so the rules were if it did not put me back and I could do the workout we would give it a go. All be it by this time it had been 5 months with no work on my arms. I am pleased to say whilst not everything I could do at full capacity and behind were I was.
It has been confirmed I finished 8th in the Adaptive Women Vision in the World and first Visually Impaired women in UK. Including finishing 4th in one of the workouts. Can not say thank you enough for the support from Add.
SECOND
Thanks to CrossFit part of my prize was to attend a Level 1 course. This I did this weekend. Not sure what I would face and I new no one, this was the biggest challenge I have faced in years.
First challenge find the door to the gym, this was ticked my randomly following ✅ people talking about CrossFit.
I then was met by three lovely people Oakley Woodhouse Training Andy Edward and Karl Steadman. Who embraced along with the group me partaking.
I have been a coach for some time in different sports using the these as my building blobs and a hands on approach, I quickly learnt I could use this for CrossFit. I loved every minute no matter how tiered I got.
The exam was tough listening to the questions at the end of two long days. A massive thank you to Andy for being my support.
I don’t know if I have passed for a week or so but this was a journey about open doors and seeing what I could do.
Can not wait for the next part.
Thank you so much to all my friend and family, Artemis GYM Gavin King CrossFit UK
My journey is to inspire all, but most of all the Adaptive community, find a spark in you and you can adapt and overcome to achieve.
Still cannot believe the day.
I am grateful everyday.
Inspired, Motivated and excited after this weekend with Alternative Movement meeting Craig and his team.
In every box there is a whiteboard with the workout, and at this box it is the same, but the inclusive training and coaching is that everyone is given their own variation be it a banded push up to on your knees, everyone was moving and working with the music pumping.
It was also great to work out with Macy who pushed hard and made me laugh from start to end.
I am so inspired to support and open doors I am in the next few weeks attend my CrossFit Level 1 course.
Big thanks to Melanie Horton Ability Therapies who’s knowledge and conections and understanding of the needs for her support in this journey.
This weekend Melanie Horton from Ability Therapies and myself will be heading to Alternative Movement to be inspired and we hope to inspire and share my CrossFit experience.
We also cannot wait to chat after class about growing Adaptive CrossFit in the UK and creating more competitions.
I know my gyn Artemis GYM supports me and we hope to find many more gyms like it.
