Staging Large Range Rooms

People can struggle to understand where to place furniture in large rooms like this.Creating zones for different activities helps this. Here I used the two beautiful windows to create focal points for each zone.

The chesterfields cheering the lounge area either side de of the window and the dining set centres on the other window which overlooks Torquay harbour.

Visited SAPC for a business meeting this week with Cornwall Housing. I had the privilege of helping to design the interior when it was built selecting all the furniture and accessories and some finishes for this project. Had a great panoramic view from the top floor conference suite! Such a lovely sunny day.

🌹 Rosehip petals from the front garden make lovely table decorations. I think I’ll also have a bathwith some tonight as they smell amazing! 🌹

Excited to stage this 3 bedroomed new build near Exeter in the market town of Crediton this weekend.

It's a detached house with 2 sets of French doors onto a large deck across both the living room and kitchen diner.

Also has off road parking and a garage and lawned garden.

I'm preparation for Chinese New Year on Monday.
Getting my office ready for the new 20 year master cycle in Feng Shui. Prepare for the Year of the Wood Drragon 🪵 🐉

Today I've given the floor some extra attention, smudged with Paolo Santo, cleared with my singing bowl and played space clearing music 🎶

Really happy with the result.
Got my desk in the power position and my artwork up including Crystal Palace postcards.

Next is my 2024 vision board which I feel I can now complete in my new office.

Frost on my windscreen this morning is soooo beautiful 😍 ❄️

Start of a new era, moved into a house after a tumultuous year. Celebrating 48 years on this planet.

Feeling very grateful for everything we have today, friends helping us move, new friendly neighbours, the family with me, family visiting, froends and fam8ly messaging , our dog and this glass of champagne and wood burning stove keeping us toasty!

1 day in and most of one storage unit down. One and a half to go! Big move is happening on Tuesday!

It's great to finally have a fixer upper rather than a new build.

This is a roaring 1920s build so my favourite decade love ❤️

Love this effect

"When we use the effect of backlighting within a shelf, it can leave the object on display in silhouette. Sometimes, this is the desired effect and works well, creating depth and drama to the space. ⁠

However, as our aim here was to create softness with delicate layers of light, it was important that an additional discreet layer of light was added so as to not look too theatrical. Therefore, we added additional small downlights (the Minim) so as to create extra focus onto the objects themselves and not just to the rear of the joinery."⁠

An ode to old fashioned glamour
The Beaufort Bar at The Savoy London exudes a glowing elegance. With a theatrical Art Deco interior of jet-black and burnished gold decor, the bar is all about champagne, cocktails and cabaret. Luxuriously comfortable sofas and chairs are furnished in dark wood with black and gold fabrics. Standing on the hotel’s former cabaret stage, the bar continues nightly live entertainment with occasional appearances from cabaret legends along with up and coming talent.

Une ode au bon vieux glamour
Le Beaufort Bar à l’hôtel Savoy de Londres dégage une élégance éclatante. Avec un intérieur Art Déco théâtral composé d’un décor noir de jais et d’or bruni, ce bar est entièrement dédié au champagne, aux cocktails et au cabaret. Les canapés et les chaises en bois sombre recouvert de tissus noirs et dorés sont d’un confort extrême. Situé sur l’ancienne scène du cabaret de l’hôtel, le bar propose toujours des spectacles en direct tous les soirs avec l’apparition de légendes du cabaret, à l’occasion, aux côtés des jeunes talents.

This scandi lounge has a lovely area for admiring the countryside views or reading a book quietly.

The leather recliner and footstool are complemented by an arc lamp.

I used a custom roman blind with a standing print to give clean contemporary lines that don't fight with the lovely view.
