We're delighted that the new vending machine at Ellerby's hospital in York is now live and serving up delicious Oakhouse Foods meals.

The vending machines can dispense food 24/7 for all staff. If you're hungry for cottage pie, soups, chilli, fish pie, or even apple crumble and ice cream, head to the vending machine for a meal in minutes.

Simply select an item, pay by card, scan the barcode and pop it in the microwave for automatic cooking.

To help raise awareness for victims of stroke, members of our Oakhouse family will be organising a walk on Thursday, the 29th of June, in loving memory of our friend and colleague, Pete Slater, and to raise money for the Stroke Association and the amazing work they do.

The walk will set off from Bradford-upon-Avon and follow the canal all the way to Bath, for a total distance of around 10 miles!

If you would like to donate and help in the fight against stroke, you can do so on our JustGiving page. All of the proceeds will go straight to the Stroke Association, to help fund the life-saving work that they do.

On Random Acts of Kindness Day, we wanted to celebrate a wonderful story from Mrs B who shops with our South Wales team.

‘In the last cold snap, our lovely customer, Mrs B, phoned us to tell us that she had bought some hot water bottles and fleecy blankets for any customers who might be struggling. We handed out Mrs Bs gifts on her behalf – they were really appreciated. And we were inspired to buy some more for others who might need a bit more comfort during the cold weather’

This lovely story certainly warmed our hearts – a heartfelt thank you to Mrs B and the team in South Wales ❤
