Providing Well-Being tools for children and training adults to do the same.
Today is world kindness day. Yes of course we should be kind EVERY day but today make a real effort. The biggest challenge is doing things and not telling anyone. Don’t buy someone’s coffee or dinner then post about it. That’s not why we are kind. Do it to make someone else feel loved and appreciated and to bring them joy. You just don’t know what a difference you can make.
❤️
I am currently doing a course on empowering girls and young women. This interview with Steve Biddulph is a part of it and I think it is well worth a listen. If you are a parent or even work with children I highly recommend his books on Raising Boys and Raising Girls and I just discovered he has one called Raising Babies.
They are easy to read and spell put some obviously and some not so obviously things about the way children develop and learn.
This interview is from 2013 and things are getting quite serious even back then.If you add in an extra few years or Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Love Island etc then you might be gong to realise how much our children and young people and in turn our society really are being damaged from a very young age. https://youtu.be/KVWnmn6oI0g

Usually I hate the feel of sand on my feet. But today I feel like I am going to embrace it. After coming away for a few days I am practicing my mindfulness by the sea. It’s not often I get to the seaside so I am enjoying the sounds of the waves, the feel of the sand and even the sound of the seagulls.
Try and get out today and spend a few minutes in the still of nature. Marvel at how blessed you are take time to tell yourself that ‘you’ve got this’ no matter what life throws at you.
Some of the mandalas we created today.
This week is mental health awareness week. Now there are a few things I feel very passionate about. One is mental and emotional well-being in children. The other is McFly. 🎸🥁🎤😍
Imagine my delight when the beautiful drummer Harry Judd gets involved with mental well-being. 🥰 He has helped to create a free ebook with Simply health to support mental health using nature. https://www.simplyhealth.co.uk/our-partners/mental-health-foundation/take-a-breath/ebook?att=2644
The bit I particularly like about this and I have tried is called Skychology.
The sky has been a bit bright lately so I strongly recommend wearing sunglasses and never look directly at the sun.
Go and download the book and see what you can incorporate into your life to promote your own well-being.
I can also recommend the wonderful book from Harry ‘get fit get happy’ that has some exercises for you to do with your family at home. He also talks about his journey with his own mental health. (I especially like the pictures 😉)
During lockdown and remote learning I would record a video for my class each morning for when I was in school with the key worker children. This is one of our favourites You might find yourself laughing at me laughing 🤣 but that’s kind of the point. Do this work your family and see how it makes you all feel. ❤️ Let me know if you enjoy it. 🙂
Have you heard of the museum of happiness? It is an actual thing. 🥰

How exciting! I will be checking this out today.
Who am I?
My name is Lisa. I have over 22 years of experience in Childcare and Education with children aged 0-14 years old.
I have worked in a huge variety of childcare settings and have spent many years as a Nanny.
I currently work as a full time Teaching Assistant in a Prep School and have trained as a Mini Me Yoga Ambassador.
Mini Me Yoga discovered me when I was looking for new venture and resonated with me as I have done a lot of personal development over the last few years. My aim is to incorporate this into my School setting and train adults in our exciting Foundation Programme. I feel strongly about the state of our children’s mental health and it is my mission to help reach #amillionkids .
