Saturday night and Dartmouth was treated to a private firework display from a house down on the river below us. Interesting effect viewing from Above Town, (the clue is in the name). At times it felt like we were inside the display. See more at www.TheViewFromTheDartmouthOffice.com
WOW, we're totally captivated by this incredible aerial shot over Goodrington with stunning views of the steam train and Splashdown Quaywest all in the frame. 🚂 💦 🏖️

'Children don't need
to travel on a plane,
so don't feel guilty
for playing in the rain.
They'll remember the picnics
in the park
and being in the garden
after dark.
They'll think of the times
you sat down to play.
Eating ice creams
on a hot summer's day.
They won't miss a thing
by not travelling to Spain.
So don't feel guilty
for playing in the rain.'

Unlike some of its South Hams neighbours, Dartmouth is no one-season holiday wonder. The town turns out in force for the food and music festivals and the annual three-day Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta which encompasses serious sailing events and an ice-cream-eating competition.
At one end is Bayard’s Cove, with its 16th-century fort and stone quay, along with an inn with some of the finest views in the land; at the other is a working model of the first steam engine, designed by Thomas Newcomen, a local lad. In between are half-timbered inns and warehouses, with the regular toot of the steam trains on the Dartmouth Steam Railway adding to the ambience.

Who's your designated driver?
From Dartmouth take the A3122 towards Totnes. After approximately four miles, turn right at the Sportsmans Arms, Hemborough Post signposted to Dittisham.
Continue into the village turning right at The Level and you can park at the car park here.
Or head down Riverside Road and park at The Ham - if the tide is out you can walk along the riverside. If the tide is in there is a lane between The Ham and Manor St where we are.
Once on foot, turn onto Manor Street and walk down the hill towards the river where the FBI will be found on the left-hand side. We're the big pink building - you won't miss us!
(Please do not attempt to drive down to the FBI as we have no parking outside the pub.)
