Introduction

We would like to invite you to take part in our online study. Before you decide we would like you to understand why the research and development is being done and what it would involve for you. One of our team will go through the information sheet with you and answer any questions you have, on request by email. Talk to others about the study before making a decision to contribute if you wish.

What is the purpose of the study?

We would like you to help us better design a new entry-level DS Smith Dart Boccia ramp for Sports Clubs, Schools and Colleges.

Who is doing this research and why?

Dr George Torrens will be supervising the online forum and application of information given. The suggestions for improvements, demonstrations of customisation and alternative ways of adapting the DS Smith Dart Boccia ramp and its use in a game

Are there any exclusion criteria?
There are no exclusion criteria and we would be happy to gain your opinions on these products and applied techniques.

However, defamatory or offensive comments, images or videos will be deleted from the online forum and reported to Facebook.

What will I be asked to do?

By contributing images or videos of you or your team playing Boccia with the Ramp, or comments about improvements or other suggestions, you are consenting to allow the multi-media material to be used to refine and develop the DS Smith Dart Boccia ramp and in academic articles, popular press and other publications of Loughborough University and DS Smith.

Once I take part, can I change my mind?

Yes. After you have read this information and asked any questions you may have if you are happy to participate, you can upload the suggest multi-media material online. However, after you have uploaded material, you can request the material to be deleted, for any reason and you will not be asked to explain your reasons for the request.

However, once the results of the study are aggregated and publication has been submitted (expected to be by February 2018), it will not be possible to withdraw your individual data from the research.

Will I be required to attend any sessions and where will these be?

No. You can upload your material on the internet.

How long will it take?

Your contribution may take the time of one comment or be an on-going contribution; it will be your choice.

What personal information will be required from me?

We may ask you to complete online surveys, which are linked to a secure site administered by British Online Surveys (BOS). The surveys will be kept confidential and secure for the duration of the programme.

I have some more questions; who should I contact?

If you have further questions, please contact Dr George Torrens, via email ([email protected]) or telephone: 01509 222 664.

What will happen to the results of the study?

Once all the information is collected, it will be processed and the statistical outcome, along with all comments made by participants will be published in a series of journal articles, popular journals, press and other publicity material of Loughborough University and DS Smith.
