A few weeks ago we as Cancer patients attached to the Maelor Hospital in Wrexham were told that the position of Meastalic nurse was being disbanded , a terrible blow for every Cancer patient under her care . As a member of the SRG and North Wales Cancer Forum I have obviously protested strongly against this decision along with other individual members of Cancer groups . Special thanks to Sarah Atherton a great MP in Wrexham for being the main supporter and helping us achieve the news that this post has now been reinstated until March 25 when we will carry on fighting to ensure that Cancer patients get the best treatment that they deserve

Today I have received the news that Planning permission has been granted to build a Maggies Cancer Support Centre in Glan Clwyd Bodelwyddan.
Having been a Volunteer in Maggies at Clatterbridge and having been part of the team that for the past five years has been canvassing for this Centre, I am delighted to hear the news .
Maggies Centres give so much help and comfort to patients and their families who are affected by Cancer and my thanks to everyone who has helped to make this possible
As a self funding Centre there is a lot of hard work to be done and it would not be even possible without the Steve Morgan Foundation whose support is invaluable.
I shall be very involved in the next stage of fundraising especially in the Mold and Flintshire area so I will keep everyone informed as it happens
Many thanks
Haydn
