Mid-season update

A lot has changed very recently, so here is a quick update as to whats going on behind the scenes.

I have started a few new Coaching roles with Ratcliffe College, Nottingham Forest Girls' Pathway and NLD Rugby Girls' u16 Developing Player Programme as Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Power Performance is now purely online. A huge change after years of delivering in person sessions.

💧Staying Hydrated💧

Staying hydrated is very important for your performance and even more important for your health. So make sure you are making a huge effort to keep your hydration levels up, especially during the hot days we've been having recently.

🔹️Get into the habit of sipping on a drink of water at regular intervals throughout the day.
🔹️Utilise electrolytes to replace what you lose through sweating, and improve your ability to hold onto the water you are getting in.
🔹️Be prepared by having a drink or two ready to go at any time.
🔹️Come up with a water intake goal for the day to aim for.

What to expect from coaching with Power Performance? ⁣

🔹 The initial consultation - In your Initial Consultation with Power Performance, we sit down and discuss your reasons for seeking coaching and what you would like to achieve from your time working with us. We will also talk through other things that could impact the planning process, such as: training history, injury history, lifestyle, and competition calendar. This will help us to formulate a plan of action. The next stage will be your Testing Day. ⁣

🔹 Your Testing Day – Your testing will be delivered by a vastly experienced and qualified practitioner. The tests and assessments delivered will be based upon what was discussed at your Initial Consultation. Your Testing Day could include, but is not limited to: Functional Movement Screening, Strength testing, Flexibility assessment, and Cardiovascular Fitness testing. With these results, we can design a fully periodised and progressive programme for you to follow and track your progress.⁣

🔹 Your Training – During your coached sessions, you should expect excellent communication between you and your coach, along with specialist teaching ability. Away from your coached sessions, you will follow your fully periodised and progressive programme. There will always be a line of communication between you and your coach for any questions you may have about your training, nutrition, or anything else you may need, as such it should never feel like you are really training on your own.⁣

🔹Where we train – Coaching takes place at or or our outdoors if needed.
