Discover Explore is part of Discovering Places, the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Campaign to inspire the UK to discover their historic, natural, and built environments. Principally funded by the National Lottery through the Olympic Lottery Distributor. Discover Explore has been built by The Workshop (Sheffield). Discovering Places is delivered in partnership between The Heritage Alliance and London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
DISCOVER:EXPLORE is aimed at getting young people exploring their local wildlife, nature reserves and national trust properties. At the moment, we have missions across the Lee Valley region (near London) and the Great Glen region (between Fort William and Inverness) but our list is growing all the time. :)
We are hoping to get further funding to expand the project across the UK, but that depends on the support we get. The more support we can get, the more likely we are to get funding to be able develop projects all over the UK with schools, wildlife and heritage organizations.
