It's always lovely to catch up with friends and incorporate a monthly treatment swap.
Yesterday I received a relaxing foot detox spa and gentle reflexology session with Judy Dyer (images below), I obviously needed that haha.
In return Judy received a much needed relaxing back massage and nourishing facial with a rejuvenating facial massage by myself.

HOW SINGING AFFECTS OUR HEALTH
* Singing informs the body the "right" vibrations that increase our vitality;
* During singing, special chemicals are produced in the human brain that help us feel peace and joy;
* Singing improves blood circulation in the throat area, which has a beneficial effect on the vocal cords, plums and numerous lymph nodes in the throat and therefore significantly increases local immunity (in other words, we less often get colds);
* Improving the blood supply while singing leads to an increase in brain activity: it begins to work more intensively, memory improves, any information is easier to perceive;
* Singing is very beneficial for lung diseases, as it works as a breathing gymnastics, which promotes chest development, proper breathing, and significantly reduces the number of acute lung conditions;
* With regular singing, the levels of immunoglobulin and hydrocortizone, which are signs of good immunity, increase in the body;
* Methods have been developed that treat hiccups through singing and help improve diction;
*Singing is even used in the fight against obesity: sometimes it is available to overweight people when they feel hungry instead of eating, sing two or three songs.
Attention, girls! Singing improves blood supply to the head area and generally rejuvenates the body, skin condition improves.
This is why experts recommend singing at least 5 minutes a day, equating singing to physical exercise.

Can you feel the changes?
Autumn is a time of letting go of grief and taking in purifying energy through the air and good quality food. Long Autumnal walks, one of my favourite things, ditch the headphones and take in all of the sounds of nature, returning home to a comforting warm meal.
This can also be a time of letting go of attachments to material possessions, I am definitely in the mood for another decluttering session as I am looking forward to refreshing my paintwork, I’ve got my decorating head on.
Let’s also remember to declutter and make space physically, creating more time to go within, emptying your mind by making time for more meditation, which can easily be achieved by walking, washing the posts, daydreaming and journalling.
Here are a few habits to adapt during Autumn:
Try to increase cardio or vigorous exercise.
Balance the body pH with alkaline fresh foods, especially warming vegetable soups. Great for this time of the year.
Hydrotherapy - add in cold showers, saunas/steam rooms and a daily oil massage to cleanse the lymph.
Don’t forget Grandma was right - dress warmly and keep the chill off your bones.

I am writing a quick post to say thank you to all those that supported me over the last few years.
This has been a tough decision, I have decided to close my weekly yoga class in Ilkeston.
This does not mean that I am giving up on the yoga altogether,
I will continue to offer 1:1 sessions (at home or via zoom) and I am going to place my full focus on writing monthly workshops for the coming future.
I will also have the time to concentrate on my Acupressure coursework, which I am thoroughly enjoying.

This weeks class - Thursday 28th September at 7-8pm at The Luna Shala, Ilkeston.
We are now in Autumn, the organs/body parts most sensitive at this time of the year are the lungs, large intestine, and the skin.
This weeks class will include several acupressure points to focus on, especially when you have a cold/flu.
This was especially beneficial for me, as last weekend I was full of Cold/Flu, not ideal when you are away for the weekend. Luckily I had taken my acupressure course work with me. During the weekend I tried a variety of acupressure points and I am now almost back to full health. These acu-points have helped me tremendously and will help you and your family over the coming months.
The Kriya for this week focuses on the lymphatic system of the body - opening up the lymph glands/nodes to help drain and clear our body system. It is much like getting rid of all the garbage out of the body.
During the class we are helping to clear cellular debris, emotional residues, physical residues environment toxins, body waste, all of that clears through the lymphatic system.

KRIYA & MEDITATION OF THE WEEK
MY BODY IS THE HOME OF MY SOUL…
After a Kriya of mainly lying down last week, I have chosen a standing Kriya, an overall Healthy Body Kriya, which activates the first chakra, it grounds us with the Earth, and builds the first chakra which helps with feeling awareness.
Our physical and emotional bodies are intertwined. Our emotional body, which is non-physical energy, inhabits our body. Our body is the home of our emotions.
Whilst doing any physical or breathing exercise you may repeat the following or any other phrase you can think of:
’My body is the home of my soul’ - this reminds you to honour your body as a sacred vessel.
‘My body is the container of my emotions’ - this reminds you to focus on both physical sensations and emotional feelings.
To stay present in our body and feelings use stretches and movements to feel the sensations in the body. By doing standing exercises first we are helping to stay connected in our body during meditation.
Ending the class with a very lovely Healthy, Happy & Holy Breath meditation and a well deserved deep healing relaxation to finish.

Thank you for such a lovely class last night.
I did wonder If the heat would be too much, we took it steady and it was a lovely relaxing, meditative experience.
I, for one slept like a log.
For those that attended I will email the acupressure points for depression, anxiety, chest congestion including coughing tonight.
It is so great to be back on the mat.

What a beautiful sunny week we have had.
I realised I did say we were in Autumn, when in actual fact this is the Late Summer period.
Much like the Autumn period we are for the next few weeks focused on the digestive system.
Self care, self nurturing helping with our confidence and willpower.
Habits to adapt this period:
💎Increase anti-inflammatory diets, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
💎 Consider adding digestive enzymes and probiotics
💎 Avoid processed foods with trans fat and polyunsaturated fats
💎 Allow for healthy fat intake to soothe intestinal lining: ghee, coconut oil, h**p oil, sesame oil, 3-6-9 omega oil blends.
What a beautiful sunny week we have had.

Yay, one more day until I am back on the mat.

🧘Has it been a while since you went to a yoga class?
💓You loved the way it made you feel.
Your mat is calling you back... 'Oh I really must get back to class',
But then those thoughts are overshadowed by oh I'm too busy, maybe next week.
Try to remember how good it made you feel, more relaxed, more stamina, deeper sleep, more focus, able to cope with everyday stresses.
Once you get back into a routine of taking care of yourself, everything that seemed like a chore becomes more joyful. You begin to look forward to the next class and then the next.

September relates to the number 9, number 9 is the subtle body in the yogic teachings, and it has the power to sense things in the environment and surrounding space.
I have found as soon as September arrives, even though I don’t go to school, I always get that ‘Going back to school’ feeling and I am sure that many of you do too. It is like a deep knowing that change is upon us.
September is a time of focus and clarity, and the gift of transformation. Number 9 is an invitation to experience a new you, to open a new doorway of self-awareness that will bring good fortune, luck and joy.
There are a lot of energetic shifts rights now, we all have a subtle body, and some of us are more tuned into these energies than others. It is important for us to stay focused and connected right now. If your 9th body is weak you may be naive, easily fooled, restless, because you lack the peace that comes from flowing with the way things are.
To create this peace, is to silence the mind and open the heart.
Simply, sit down, close the eyes, begin long deep breathing through the nose. After a few minutes ask yourself “What does my Subtle Body have to say about this?” Invite the peace into your heart and spread all around you. The more you practice this, the more easily the answers will flow to your conscious mind.
When you go for a walk in nature, walk more slowly and calmly. Feel the effects. Be more patient with yourself and others, be kind and gentle to yourself.
‘I heal myself through loving choices’
These essences work on a subtle energetic level and help to make a shift in your life:
Bach flower essence of Willow - is there to help you to ‘forgive and forget’ whilst also releasing the injustices of the past.
Rock rose essence is said to give courage and release the feelings of anguish and having a limit of endurance.

According to the meteorological calendar, as of today
1st September it is the start of AUTUMN.
I am very excited to be back on the mat next Thursday, 7th September at 7-8pm at The Luna Shala.
Autumn is a time of LETTING GO...
I have a very exciting Kriya to share with you all next week, all about Letting Go and being in flow.
It includes an Acupressure warm up, energising exercises, and a very calming meditation to finish with.
I will share more next week, for now have a wonderful weekend.
I am in Stoke tomorrow doing a lovely Pamper session for 6 lovely ladies and a nice chill out day on Sunday, hopefully in the garden if the weather behaves.
