Massive thanks to T.C Tree Services and English Heritage for the wood donation today. Out log store is looking healthy but we know how quickly it starts to disappear once the weather turns cold. Hopefully, if we keep receiving donations like this, we won’t have to turn anyone away this coming winter.

HELP needed - we've been offered some of this wood (2.3m lengths) but we have no suitable vehicle to transport it the 13 miles to our log bank - does anyone know of a company who hires out tipper trucks for the day OR is there a driver with a truck who'd be willing to quote for moving some of it? (note the donor has machinery to load it onto a vehicle) Please contact [email protected] / 07470564442 if you're able to help, or comment below - thanks!

Many thanks to Allendale Estates, Whitfield Estates and our supporter at Bowlam Lake who all stepped in and offered us some wood! Now the hard work of getting it to the log bank!

Massive thanks to Tree Beard tree surgery ltd for your delivery to the log bank this week. Perfect timing as we were just about to run out - this will keep the volunteers busy for the next couple of weeks

Sadly our bag store wasn’t weather proof - drying the bags before folding in preparation for winter operations.

*AN APPEAL* 🙏- usually we work all summer, cutting and seasoning wood ready for our winter deliveries but we have only approximately 2 weeks of work left before we run out of donated wood - if you have any fallen trees please consider donating to the Northumberland Log Bank!

Many thanks to Lambshield Farm and Marlene Kinver who both supported the log bank with donations of used animal feed bags, we have a few hundred but can ALWAYS take more.

Proud to be 1 of the 262 charities to be given the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, especially considering that there are over 488,000 charities in the UK

Heartfelt thanks to Jesmond Tree Surgeons for the donation of ash today, once we have our new breathable bags we will get it cut down to manageable sizes and leave to season over summer, ready for next year’s deliveries.

As the season comes to a close we’re cleaning up ready for a summer of log splitting. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers who were captured being real on BeReal

Logs delivered a little further North today, and as it was a nice dry delivery location we were able to drop off a bag of Gateway into the Community kindling - in bags donated by The Grateful Bread- keeping Northumbrians warm together 🪵🔥💛

A bit of a change today, collecting instead of deivering. If you’re selling your home and don’t want to move your log store you could consider donating it to the Northumberland Log Bank

Many thanks to Alpaca Encounters for allowing us to take your empty bags - enough for us to carry out 10 more deliveries this winter and beyond (as we will recollect snd reuse for as long as they are useable)
Thanks too to your neighbour who contacted us to collect the chicken feed bags and led us to your door!

Thanks to Tim at Gateway into the Community, some of our deliveries this week will receive a bundle of kindling, ideal for getting those fires started quickly.

Many thanks to Broad Gate Farm for the bag donation, and Natural Ability Hexham who checked and packed the bags ready for collection. 200 bags in a mini and unpacked!!
