Thank you Ann for visiting us and Rosie Casselden.
Birthday celebrations at Team Powertex!
It’s Eddies birthday today and was Julie’s yesterday, wishing them both many happy returns 🥳
What do people say about you when you’re not in the room?
What about when you’re in a different country?!
It was so lovely to meet up with Kay who came to visit us in England, all the way from Powertex Australia 🇦🇺
We talked about Powertex, of course, and what we enjoy creating. It’s wonderful to connect with fellow Tutors in real life and share stories and experiences.
We are very lucky to have an amazing community within Powertex, who feel inspired by each other’s work, there’s so much to learn and discover, every day is exciting.
Talking about who inspires us and what we admire about what we see, strengthens relationships and causes amazing ripple effects. Words and stories can have a profound effect, use them wisely and with grace.
Karen Hewitt, you were mentioned and we’re sure you’re spreading the creative joy on your travels too 🥰
Don't quit until it's finished!
You can't possibly judge a piece of work until it's complete, only then can you look over your project with a critical eye.....
We often stop part way through because we are not happy with what we are creating. This is because we have an image in our eye or an idea of how the project 'should' look.
This is ok BUT, it's not finished so OF COURSE it doesn't look like that!
Keep going until the end, we promise the results are worth it.
Here is a great example of Stone Art clay being used - it has designs stamped IN to the clay on the unicorn creating wonderful texture which is later enhanced by dry-brushing.
This unicorn was a project at The Powertex Garden Party where many happy memories were made 🥰
Did you know there is more than one way to use Powertex Stone Art?
Create the famous Stone Effect!
Apply a layer Powertex on an object or canvas then sprinkle the Stone Art powder on top. Press the powder into the wet Powertex and massage gently until the loose debris falls away - you can re-use all of this, don't waste any! Continue until you get the desired effect.
In this picture, Amy has used the technique on a polystyrene fish shape to create a wonderful sculpture that looks like it has been carved out of stone,
