See update ♥

UPDATE 3: Hannah is really doing well. She is back to her usual self, running around like nothing has happened. She is eating well, purring non-stop and full of love and cuddles, just as before. We didn't opt for the biopsy in the end, as that would have cost another £100, so will keep a close eye on her going forward. :)

UPDATE 2: Hannah is recovering well from her op and we are advised we can pick her up after 5pm. Phew! :)

UPDATE: Hannah is booked in for her op next Wednesday (17th). So far we have now raised £430 from our appeal, so over halfway there, which is wonderful and we cannot thank you enough. We still have a bit of a way to go so if you can make a donation, no matter how small, we would be forever grateful. Thank you so much. ♥

APPEAL

Hannah's story:

Hannah came to us in September of 2019. She and another little cat (male) had been left in a locked cupboard by their previous owners when they moved house. They were found about a week later by the letting agents who discovered both cats in a terrible condition along with 4 tiny kittens. Hannah had given birth in that cupboard, with no access to food and water, as both bowls were empty. They were taken in by neighbours, the male going to one family and Hannah and her kittens to another. Eventually, it became too much for the family to cope with, so they contacted us. Hannah had given everything she had to her kittens and was just a bag of bones with nothing left by the time she arrived here 3 weeks later. She didn't know if she was coming or going which is why we called her Hannah. We called her little kittens Teeny, Titch, Itsy and Lilbit - they were like tiny mice and all 5 of them had cat flu. Our vet said Hannah, who is really small herself, was only about 9 months old at that time, so just a baby, but he was sure that with care and antibiotics she would recover from the cat flu. However, we were warned that her kittens may not survive as they were so ill and so tiny with their little eyes and noses totally gummed up, no matter how often we cleaned them. They were unable to suck and they were all constantly sneezing so had to be fed here every 4 hours through a tiny tube straight into their stomachs. Two, Teeny and Titch, were of particular concern and we were told to prepare ourselves to lose them. Hannah was an amazing mum, washing them, licking them and cuddling them but she was completely out of milk so we had to continue tube feeding all the kittens ourselves. Gradually Hannah improved and was able to feed Itsy & Lilbit again (they had also improved and could benefit from the antibiotic in mum's milk) but the cat flu still had hold of Teeny and Titch and they couldn't suckle, so we continued with the tube feeding those two. However, once they reached 8 weeks old they were able to be given very small doses of antibiotics and started to improve from then on. Happily, they all survived! Itsy and Lilbit were adopted together to an absolutely amazing home in November of 2019. It was January of 2020 before Teeny and Titch fully recovered though, mainly, according to our vet, because of the amazing care Hannah gave them. She was an incredibly loving, attentive mum and by their side constantly. The three of them settled in here with the rest of our gang so perfectly during the Covid period and made lots of friends so we didn't have the heart to try to rehome them, after what they had all been through. Recently, we discovered a lump on our dear little Hannah's tummy, which is possibly a mammary tumour. The operation to remove it and have it biopsied will be in the region of £600. We would be so grateful of any donations to help us with the cost, no matter how small. If you can make a small donation it would be so very welcome. Our Paypal is paypal.me/wlfrescue (just click on that link) and put Hannah in the comments. Thank you so much. ♥
