Buckland Monachorum Summer Fair
At one time the Fair was held in the grounds of Pound House but it then moved to the grounds of the village primary school.
History of the Summer Fair
Buckland Monachorum’s Summer Fair is traditionally held on the second Saturday in June and for many years was known as the June Fair although the event seems to have developed from an older Village event known as the May Revels. Following the success of the Big Lunch in 2012, (which was held in the main street of the Village) it was decided to move the Fair into the Vil
As our Buckland Monachorum Summer Fair is over for another successful year, I wanted to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to those who helped us before and on the day.
To those who lifted and shifted tables and set up stalls, and to those who helped clear up at the end of the fair.
A special thank you to everyone who helped with the bunting making the street through the village very festive.
Thanks to Stephen & Claire for managing the road closure.
Thank you to St Andrews school for loan of the tables and the front of the school.
To the Yelverton Fire Brigade for coming down and letting everyone climb around their very clean fire engine.
To the Lodestone Border Morris and the children of JB Dance for keeping us entertained.
Lastly a great big thank you to Lisa, Katie and Helen, The Bairds, for keeping the day going.
It was a lovely and successful day and we hope that you all had an enjoyable time.

Arlo 🐈⬛ joined me for an early morning village street and churchyard clean up, post fair!! Very quiet after all the ‘busyness’ of the fair yesterday !!

Early preparations complete, thank you Stephen and Claire and your helpers for decorating the village with the bunting.
The Hog roast is on and smelling delicious. Stall setting up can begin at around 10:30 once the road has been closed.

Reminder that there is a Catch up ‘Summer Fair’ meeting tomorrow in the Drake Manor ( Thursday 16th May) at 8pm
We just wanted to say a great big “Thank You” to all those who supported our quiz evening last night. Once the money was recounted- we raised £180.50
