Please book your place if you'd like yo join me for this session at Harper's cafe.
At yesterday's craft club we made cards using "teabag folding". The lady that invented this technique started by cutting and folding the individual tea bag packets that you get in hotels etc that used to come with lovely little pictures or patterns on them. Hence the name "tea bag folding".
This technique is usually used to make rosettes but you can use the designs as corners or other combinations. Emma annd Cerys even managed to get ahead on their Christmas cards. Here are the cards everyone made. The last photo shows my demonstration samples.
Dates for the next three sessions. Let me know a.s.a.p if you'd like to join us.
For this morning's session we used Dawn Bibby's "Flower Patch Collection" to make some lovely floral cards. Well done Tina, Pam and Cerys. The arch shaped cards that came with the kit proved popular. The last photo shows my demo samples.
I'll be announcing the next three dates soon so keep an eye open for further posts.
The next session for my mpnthly club is on Sat 13th Apr, 10am 'til 2pm, £10 including all equipment and materials. I have one space left so let me know a.s.a.p if you'd like to come along. We'll be using the beautiful "Flower Patch Collection" by Dawn Bibby.
Another great morning with my lovely crafty ladies making cards for birthdays, Easter and Mother's Day. We used dye based inks for coloured backgrounds. For the main focal point we stamped the outlines with oil based embossing inks. We then added embossing power which we melted with a heat gun. Finally the images were coloured in using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers adding shading using two different tones of the same colour.
Some beautiful floral creations were achieved.

There was a little bit of going "off piste" using Christmas dies and some additional papers in co-ordinating colours.

Sorry I haven't arranged any group sessions recently. Many of you will know that in recent months I have been backwards and forwards to Cornwall as my dad was unwell. He sadly passed away a few weeks ago. I am now back home and will be restarting the monthly craft club soon. Keep an eye out for details. Don't forget I can also arrange individual one-to-one cardmaking lessons - ideal for beginners or those wanting tailored help to improve their skills. In the meantime here are a few cards I have managed to make over the last few months to give you all a bit of inspiration.

To pass on my love of cardmaking I started to run some craft sessions in my dedicated craft room above my garage. The idea was to start teaching other people how to make beautiful greetings cards like mine. Unfortunately due to the Civid-19 outbreak these have had to be put on hold for now. Once lockdown is finished and we are all allowed to socialise in small groups again I will be restarting these lessons.
Each session will be a tutorial style group workshop (up to 4 people). No prior craft experience necessary. I will start with a step by step demonstration showing you what to do and then there will be plenty of time to have a go yourself. There will be a theme for each tutorial which will either be based on a kit I have bought, a specific product from one of the popular craft brands or a particular technique such as rubber stamping, die-cutting, tea bag folding etc. The workshops will be 3 hours long and cost £10 per person. Maximum of four and booking will be essential.
I will be posting all the details of my future sessions on this page.
