April Silver

A beautiful labradorite cabochon set on a handmade silver bezel with a chunky hand made chain.

I wanted to make a long silver chain by hand. I added this pendant made using some gold recycled from my old gold earrings and think it works well - for now!

My problem is I always want to make neat jewellery (well to the best of my ability) so when showed me how to make a ‘splat’ from my scrap silver I decided to turn it into a slightly less symmetrical pendant. What do you think?

Silver oval earrings with gold embellishments! (Balls!) - the gold is recycled from an odd 9ct gold earring.

My latest commission is a baroque pearl necklace with handmade silver links - hammered to give that lovely shiny, reflective finish, with a handmade t bar clasp. Hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office.

ANNOUNCEMENT! I have made the decision to close A Little Less Waste after Christmas. Our final day of trading will be 23rd December, and there will be a couple of sale days in January so that none of our stock is wasted.

Our rent renewal is up in the new year so I have decided to let it go rather than taking on a new lease. If anyone is interested in taking our wonderful business then please get in touch!

This photo was taken at the shop launch 2 years ago and what a journey it's been. A Little Less Waste has the most wonderful community of like minded people supporting it and this is what I will miss the most.

I have grown so much as a person, from having no business experience, to running a shop, social media, events and so much more. But most importantly I have realised that nursing is what my heart desires & it is time to head back to the NHS.

It is not over yet as we will be continue to open our usual hours until 23rd December. There are loads of events planned throughout the next month, where you can come and celebrate the last 2 years with us.

A lovely sunny walk this morning.

I am at a second craft market this year - in my home town of Southwell. It is the Christmas Late Night Shopping Evening, Thursday 30th November from 4.30 - 8.30pm. As this is my final market of the year there might even be some bargains to be found on my stall!

A big thank you to everyone who came to the Winter Craft Fair at Southwell Minster this weekend. Also a big thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Minster who managed to organise such a big event and make it a successful weekend!
