Some tips for first time buyers wanting to get on to the property ladder:

1/. Think about your budget and what kind of property you would like

2/. Keep important documents to hand from the last 3 months such as payslips, P60s, bank statements and ID

3/. Seek out the help of an independent mortgage adviser who can fully assess your affordability and provide guidance

4/. Get an accepted mortgage agreement in principle before viewing properties or making bids.
