Crankshaft bearings will wear at an accelerated rate if the TVD is not functioning correctly; causing excessive engine noise and in worst cases complete failure can occur.

To ensure the proper function of a newly installed dual-clutch, you need to thoroughly clean the gearbox input shafts' teeth and apply suitable grease. The lubricant ensures the axial movement of the clutch discs. If this movement is not smooth, the dual-clutch won't work well, resulting in discomfort while driving. Make sure to use a lubricant that meets the vehicle manufacturer's requirements for greasing!

The most common failures of the AdBlue injector are through blockages or build-up of crystalised urea. Due to the nature of the AdBlue substance, over time the AdBlue system is prone to crystallising, which clogs up both the AdBlue injector and housing. This build up prevents AdBlue fluid from entering the exhaust, therefore preventing emission standards from being met. The vehicle identifies this through sensors further down in the exhaust system and in turn prevents the vehicle from starting. The injector and housing then need to be replaced.

The new AdBlue injectors from Lucas offer superior heat sink performance, meaning that the aluminium dissipates heat better than the OE part. This therefore reduces the temperature around the injector, reducing the chance of blockage, increasing injector life and long-term performance.

Automotive professionals flocked to the Niterra stand at the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event to learn more about the company’s renowned NGK ignition and NTK vehicle electronic brands.

Niterra UK Ltd offered a great visitor experience at the two-day NEC Birmingham event. The stand information focused on ‘hero’ products within both the NGK and NTK portfolios.

One of the must-see features at the show was the emphasis on technical and business presentations found in dedicated hubs. Mik Peirce, Senior Technical Co-ordinator at Niterra UK, led a seminar on why precious metal spark plugs are more than ‘just’ an upsell. This exciting session covered the impact on newer vehicle functions and shared a rarely seen view of the spark kernel within the combustion chamber. The presentation helped garages to stay informed on the best technology for their customers.

On the new look stand itself, the Niterra team were on hand to provide expert advice to visitors. One of the hot topics was the NTK portfolio which was making a rare appearance together with the NGK brand. The range was popular with guests who could see the full range NTK has to offer and learn more about essential engine and emissions management.
The technical benefits were also paired with fantastic competitions on the stand including a stop-the-clock challenge, a social media giveaway, and prizes for the show’s spin-the-wheel game. The company also played host to its sponsored British racing star driver Max Coates on the second day of the event. Max took on guests head-to-head in the challenge, who got the chance to compare their reaction time to that of a race driver!

Becca Knight, Marketing Manager of Niterra UK Ltd, said: “It was fantastic to be able to pass on technical tips to help technicians to continue to carry out high-quality vehicle repairs and work with our products every day.

“We always want customers to speak to us about the products they know and love, but we also want them to discover something new with us such as the real-world benefits of precious metals and how many sensor solutions we offer. It was a great show, and we want to thank everyone who came to see us.”
