PLAYROOM // NOTTING HILL
Recently, an exciting opportunity to collaborate with on an exceptionally cool and unique playroom in Notting Hill came about - and this is what happened.

At James Knight Interiors, we like a challenge, and the idea to work on something which doesn’t come about every day. So of course we had to say yes!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It had its challenges, and more has been completed since these photos, which we will share soon, including a slide and rope will be added this week to get up it too!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This playroom consisted of an Oak veneer plywood treehouse, made in house on our CNC thanks to Luke who has been taking the reigns on the machine this year. Victoria and the workshop team did an amazing job in bringing Joanna’s design to real life, particularly with the rope walls and treehouse section.

Storage joinery with deep drawers and cupboard storage finished off with quirky handles.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Upper deck and lower deck LED lit. Beautiful fabric wrapped panels also finish off the wonderful space.

Timeless in frame shaker Kitchen for last year. Clean and crisp lines combined with warmth from the natural Oak floor by and grey cabinets create a beautiful contrast. With Sarah we were able to create a design which worked well for every day use on a practical level whilst ensuring it was well balanced in the space it was in. As part of the design process we will usually try several layouts, we eventually agreed to proceed with the design you see now and hope you’ll agree it works perfectly.

Appliances are housed with minimal margins. Every appliance has its own details which are carefully considered.

Deep & Rich Green Tones of this particular paint choice creates a sophisticated look in this Home Office. All details considered including reduced frames abutting to provide consistency with margins. We used the classic cockbead detail on a traditional face frame to again give continuity throughout the rooms and to work with the wall panelling.

ALCOVE JOINERY // HERTFORD

Our first post from our Hertfordshire project which we started late last year.

In frame alcove joinery with small cockbead detail, flat slab doors and subtle under shelf LED detail. Shaker style back panel creates added depth.

Traditional timber cornice detail and skirting to complement the room styling, and wall panelling which was carried out by the main contractors.

Recent Installation as part of a full home installation in Surrey. Consisting of In Frame joinery, stepped shaker doors with simple square bead detail, doors hung on Blum Onyx Black Hinges.

All details carefully considered ensuing consistent margins and details which make for balanced proportions. We had to cleverly manipulate fillers & scribes to allow for rooms that were between 85-95 degrees due to the structure of the property.
