For mental health awareness week I thought I'd share some of the ways crafting has helped myself and others around me.

As someone who struggles with generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), crafting gives my mind something to focus on and helps stop my mind spiraling. Anxiety medication has helped so much but I still struggle sometimes. 💕

Hosting workshops and putting myself out there has been SO hard with my anxiety! 18 year old me could never dream I'd be doing this for a job. I've found that it's so much easier taking to people when you have a shared interest, and I could talk about my craft for hours!! 🥰

At my workshops, I can't even recall how many times I've heard people say how relaxing and theraputic felting is. 🧘🏻 I think it's quite medatitive to take a few hours for yourself and just focus on a repetitive task.

I'm sure others who are self employed or work from home will also know how lonely it can get sometimes. Going to my weekly craft club is much needed after a busy week and it's so nice get out of the house and see what everyone else is creating.

Hi, I'm Emma 👋🏻 I'm a needle felt artist based in Llangollen, North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 I have been supported by my craft full time for 3 years now, something I never thought possible a few years ago!

I create cute and quirky home decor and gifts, alongside DIY felting kits for customers to make at home. I still can't believe that things I have made in my spare room studio, end up in other people's homes to brighten up their days. That alone brings me so much joy! 😃

I also teach felting workshops for my local community, teaching people how to slow down and learn a traditional heritage craft in a fun and engaging way! ✨

Had a lovely day exploring Chester Zoo yesterday. Babies galore with baby orangutans, baby giraffes and a baby chimpanzee! And if course we saw the newly introduced snow leopards 😍

Behind the scenes I've been making lots of stock for this weekend. ✨ Looking at the box of everything I've got ready to take with me, I can't help but smile because I haven't let this rubbish week stop me doing what I love! 💪🏻🎨
