Front porch cladding job finished off today.
Hit it with the dark pointing.
Finally the weather has lifted!!
Close to getting this porch finished this week. Using a highland mix of whin stone and granite. Hard stuff to work with but it looks nice on the wall.
Here’s hoping I make it back from my stag do to finish it off…… 🥵
This barns wall was only just standing. Collapse would have been detrimental to the roof structure and could have caused injury.
We supported the roof and took down the walling and rebuilt a smaller pillar to widen the entrance.
Couldn’t have asked for a better week of weather.
Property on Cleveden drive that was previously pointed with cement picked and repointed with lime mortar.
Cement doesn’t only decay the sandstone over time but it also traps water and causes a range of other issues. Lime pointing is also a lot easier on the eye !
A wee look back at the balmacara job recently completed.
By far the most challenging job we have done but one of the most rewarding!
See before and after pics below.
I’f you’re looking to have your garden space transformed please don’t hesitate to get in touch
Hit this wall with dark pointing mix.
First time trying out the darker pointing mix but think this one went well with the stone. One more week and this project will be handed over and onto the next!
Good week on Tiree picking and repointing a small stone cottage.
Old cement pointing was trapping water in the property and causing leaks and rot in the timber.
We picked out the cement and repointed with Lime mortar.
A great experience working out there 👌🏽
Back to this job on Monday.
Probably the most physically demanding project to date but also one of the most rewarding.
Still more to be done but great to see it all coming together.
Before and after of a small Rubble wall that was taken down and rebuilt.
Reused the old sandstone copes to finish it off. Also reused the rubble to make the most of what’s left.
To be pointed this week if it ever stops raining….
A few snaps of the recent job.
She’s getting there
Stay tuned…
Good start to the garden wall. Start of a big project… watch this space….
A good days work 💪🏼 ⚒️ 🧰
A drystone wall that was hit by a delivery lorry stripped and rebuilt.
Drystone entrance wall recently completed
Another happy client!
Car park courtyard kicked off last week. To be coped and pointed
Rubble entrance wall completed this week. Weather wasn’t on our side but we got there eventually!
New steps recently finished off this week. Also picked and repointed property walls.
Used red stone to match the surrounding buildings. Very happy with these steps and another satisfied client!
Before and after of a pointing job completed a few weeks back.
Property was previously pointed with cement which caused the stone to decay and created damp in the property.
We picked out all the cement and repointed with lime mortar.
Very important to get all cement out of the joints as soon as you can to stop all the damage that it causes to the sandstone.
If your sandstone tenement or property is needing repointed please get in touch !

Stone cladding completed this afternoon on the house. Weather held up nicely for us to complete it and had a good helping hand from the new apprentice!
Swipe ➡️ to see the new foreman…
Making good progress with the cladding on this new build. Weathers even looking good too 🌞
