Activism has always been a powerful tool for social change. From organised protests and marches to social media campaigns, there are many ways to raise awareness and promote a cause. However, one of the most visible and effective methods of activism is through the use of slogan t-shirts. A simple yet impactful way to spread a message, the power of the slogan t-shirt should not be underestimated.
See UA's latest blog post, for a brief explanation into the power of activism using slogan t-shirts.

"Making a Statement: The Power of Protest Slogan T-Shirts" Protesting has been a powerful tool for social change for centuries, allowing people to come together and demand justice, equality, and change. Slogan t-shirts can be powerful tools for conveying important messages and amplifying the voices of the protesters

A person who is married to a billionaire, and has one of the highest net-worths in the world, cannot be relied upon to make financial decisions for the benefit of the most impoverished members of society. To do the right thing, we need to elect officials who are not part of the current elitist system.
The current economic system is heavily influenced by a select group of wealthy individuals. Politicians, who are paid so well because they can influence legislation, often tend to be members of this group. With the Spring budget announcement, it is evident that politicians are not doing enough to address the growing inequality in society which is driving many to crisis point.
Quite frankly, changes in the statement are pitiful and the entire system needs reforming.
How do you feel about the announced plan?
Black is đ
A young black school girl stripped searched whilst on her period, by police whilst teachers wait outside. All because an unfounded claim was made that she smelt of cannabis.
Teachers involved. Shame on you.
Police involved. Shame on you.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Where's the safeguarding? Nothing would have necessitated this treatment. Highly unnecessary act, carried out for no other reason than to shame a young black girl and scar her for life. It's abuse, plain and simple.

I have always been aware of the fact that you can't trust whats reported in the news. But the last few years I have become acutely aware that the maistream media's sole purpose is to manipulate the masses based on the political agenda of those funding them.

International Women's Day is a time to celebrate all womenâtheir struggles, their achievements, their accomplishments.
It's a time to acknowledge the fact that there are still many barriers between women and full equality and freedom.
We are here, not just to celebrate the amazing things women do every day, but also to raise awareness of the work still left to do.
So here's to every courageous woman who does not let the word "no" defeat them.
Here's to every woman who smashes down the barriers that hold them back, even if those barriers are in their own minds.
Here's to every woman who sticks two fingers up at societal expectations and refuses to stay down or get back in her box.
And here's to every woman who fights for justice, equality and basic human rights.
Every single woman has done something inspiring for someone elseâher mother, her grandmother, her friend, her colleague or teacher. You are all role models, and every single one of you has the power to change the world. You deserve nothing less than celebration!
So here's to you...

Plant trees with us this weekend
When you order before midnight Sunday, your purchase plants a tree. One of the places where our trees are planted is Madagascar. Trees help to keep the coast line stable, diversifying and restoring the balance of nature and preserving the environment for native species and ecosystems. Each order is counted until midnight Sunday and when the window closes, we fund the planting of one tree for each customer. You don't need to enter a code or do anything special. Just place your order and we'll do the rest.
The value of the ethical clothing market increased by nearly 20% annually in recent years, according to Ethical Consumer Market Report. As the climate crisis escalates and nature itself begins to collapse, it turns out people notice.
There are simple solutions to the problems in our economy and for the biological systems which support life on Earth. By using natural materials like organic cotton, material growth means plant growth and biodiversity is a consequence.
If brands like us using renewable energy grow, so do the number of solar panels or wind turbines to power them. That makes our customers part of the solution, not part of the problem.
Hope. This is what it feels like.
Imagine what the world would be like if people were driven by doing what's right.
In this world of constant marketing, itâs easy to get wrapped up in the idea that purchasing a gift is a direct line to showing someone you love them. However, Valentineâs is not only a made up holiday, but if your loved ones are anything like me, they couldnât care less if you were to buy them something âspecialâ for a holiday that was designed by capitalism. If you do want to do something nice for your loved one(s) this Valentineâs day, let it be something thoughtful, useful and kind to the planet. And let it be something with an uplifting message to give them an extra boost - after all, we all need a little more positivity and kindness this year!

Its Urban Anarchist's 2nd birthday! đđĽłđ
For the first year of Urban Anarchist's history, we had no idea who we were. It was a complete and total fog. Then the pandemic hit, and it all made sense. We'd been preparing for this moment since day one: to be the voice of the people in a world where corporations are people and people are resources.
The time had come to re-brand our tshirt print company as Urban Anarchist, with a new focus on eco manufacturing, raising awarenss of polictical, environmental and social issues we struggle with today. And he we are two years on.
Urban Anarchist- clothing with a conscience.
I have just signed a petition asking the Environment Minister, George Eustice to save bees.
Bee killing pesticides are banned across the country, but the government have just approved an emergency license for sugar beat crops.
This is about bees, but it's also about us. If we keep harming bees, we risk our food supplies. It's estimated that a third of our food is dependent on pollinators, of which bees are some of the most important. A third of bee populations are already shrinking. We canât allow pesticides to destroy our environment and kill any more bees.
I have looked at the government publication on this and all I can see is the assessment against the risk to the crop. Not to the bees as a result and the ripple effects or the impact to humans being around or ingesting crops sprayed with pesticide. Surely these considerations should also be part of the assessment? Please see government links in comments.
Please can you add your name to this petition: https://act.gp/3Ag4bPa
Thanks for your support on this.
Save bees from deadly pesticides We canât allow pesticides to destroy our environment and kill any more bees.
Last night I shared my about UA onto a local community group. No real preamble, just Hi and here's my business. It took a few attempts for the admin to accept because I hadn't included my address on the post. Next thing I know, I'm blocked and post gone. All evidence wiped from FB. My husband says not to let it bother me but the issue I take with it, is that it's a community group in which I'm part of that community. This behaviour signals to me what is inherently wrong with society.
One person gets to judge what others are exposed to when it's of an opinion with a different viewpoint. And then exclude them from the community rather than have a conversation. This is why UA exists.
Come on wymondham the clue is in your name! Spread love not hate! â¤ď¸
My name is Anita, and I'm an activist.
I don't picket or block traffic or spray paint my opinions onto the sides of buildings, and I'm not that kind of activist.
I'm an urban anarchist.
Or a revolutionary.
Or a rabble-rouser.
Or whatever you want to call me, really. I just like to stand up for what I believe in, using clothing as a means to start conversations about issues that are important to me.
Activist...
In the dictionary, that means I'm a person who believes strongly in political or social change and takes part in activities like protests to try to make that change happen.
But in my dictionary, it means I'm a mum, a career woman, and multiple business owner who is juggling life as much as the rest of us. Along with my expert plate spinning skills (I've broken a fair few), I'm trying to be a good person.
I don't know about you, but sometimes being a good person is tough.
I mean, I'm always trying to be the best version of myselfâa woman who's strong, confident, and strives for excellence in everything she does; a mother who sets an example by showing her children how to navigate life with grace and wisdom; a career woman whose hard work has put her on the path to success; and even a budding business-owner who's showing her children they can be whatever they want if they work hard enough.
This all sounds great, right? And I'm happy to say that I'm doing pretty well at most of it. But recentlyâas much as my heart tells me one thing, and my mind tells me anotherâI found myself buying into the very consumerism problem that I was trying so hard to fight against.
Long story short, Urban Anarchist was formed to provide sustainable casual fashion basics. This means using a supplier that truly works within the framework of a circular economy. The intention is to counter the fast fashion influence and the impact to the planet and people who are borrowing it.
But there's more...
With every year that passes, I understand myself a little more, and I have realised that I can't just shut up and ignore some of the hideous things going on in the world today.
It's easy to bury my head in the sand and do nothing. But being quiet and doing nothing about the issues that may or may not directly impact me and my family, started to get under my skin. After all, not speaking out against injustice and inequality is not going to drive change in society.
But what can a working mother do when I can't even find 5 minutes to go to the loo? What mechanism do I have for raising awareness with the aim of driving change within my time-poor life?
Urban Anarchist - My protest.
Activism is a form of self expression and in a way, Urban anarchist is my therapy. I raise awareness of issues in society using the designs on the clothing to initiate a conversation, to allow other people to express themselves and raise awareness of issues that are important to them.
So I guess that makes me an activist of sorts. But aren't we all? If you've ever stood up for someone or spoken out against wrong doing, you are an activist.
Sometimes this is uncomfortable. People don't agree. But in a world of fake news, distrust in our leadership and an ever increasing division in society, we need more people to act.
Who's with me?

Our story
Weâre the founders of Urban Anarchist. We really care about what we wear and ensuring that what we wear, is not at the cost of the planet or the people who live on it. We believe in creating rebellious, head turning designs, using ethical and sustainable materials that are made to last.
Most of the big brands on the high street donât see the world the way we do. Fast fashion is now the worldâs fourth biggest polluter, only behind housing, transport and food. In the UK on average we buy 26.7kg of new clothes a year â thatâs about the same weight as four bowling balls! Worse than that, 235m items of clothing ended up in landfill.
Weâre all about quality over quantity. Not only are these products bad for the environment, we think theyâre bad for your wardrobe too.
Urban Anarchist brings to you fashion thatâs made to last. Our items arenât for a reason or season. They are intended for a lifetime. In fact, we are so confident that our items will last you years, that if you find that your purchase is nearing the end of itâs lifespan, you can send it to us to recycle and receive 30% discount off a like for like item.
