Lakes Mortgages Ltd Latitude Series 4 is up next for the Northern circuit. This time they head to Bassenthwaite as part of the Great North Asymmetric Challenge.

Next round of the West Country Boat Repairs Millennium Series is at the delightful Stone SC on Sept 14th and 15th. 3 races Saturday with first race at 13.00. 3 races Sunday first race at 10.30. Free camping at the club and campervans can be parked in club car park FOC but due to space need to park close together with no awnings. Meal and disco at club Saturday night.

Get rid of the post Nationals blues with some good quality fleet racing and banter with good friends.

Post nationals blues? Well, never fear. The West Country Boat Repairs Millenium series returns on 14th/15th September at Stone SC and the Lakes Mortgages Ltd Latitude Series returns on 21st/22nd September at Bassenthwaite.

Astral Azure 2000 class National Championship at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club - Overall After the lay day and the exceptional Noble Marine young sailors fish and chip supper, which was a tour de force, Thursday dawned a little dodgy. Torbay was not looking at its best, totally grey, very low cloud and constant rain showers.

Yesterday saw a well deserved layday that concluded with a fish and chip supper for the youth of the 2000 class.

We are back on the water again today for Astral Azure Limited 2000 Nationals. Expecting to see D flag go up around 1030 for 1125 first warning.

To remind everyone, should the F flag be displayed, the races will not count towards the “Newcomer” or “Family junior” categories.

Astral Azure 2000 class National Championship at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club - Update The Astral Azure 25th anniversary 2000 Nationals at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club has been action packed with eventful high quality racing and much fun on shore with a full programme showing exactly why the class has gone from strength to strength.

Mixed conditions today, but ultimately can only be described as champagne sailing. Torbay brought the breeze and the sun on day 3, so many smiles to be seen on the slipway at the end of the day. Huge thanks to Lakes Mortgages Limited for the post race ice creams!

Another fantastic debrief and starting masterclass from Adam Bowers. Be sure to collect your pre-ordered nationals t-shirts and hoodies from Alice after the debrief.

See you all tonight at 1830 for the BBQ at Royal Torbay Yacht Club. Bring your best banyan rig / Hawaiian shirts.

The Royal Air Force Sailing Association are ready for day 2, are you?

Delta flag expected up around 1030, first warning 1125.

Champagne moment for day one goes to Ollie Groves for his first race win at 2000 nationals, followed by a ‘rapid derig of the mast’ at the slipway.

Our non-alcoholic grape based sparkling beverage moment for day one goes to Edie Carter for her spectacular capsize after being first youth at the top mark, in 6th.

The Tony Slade Trophy has been awarded to outgoing chairman Mike McEwing for his outstanding contribution to the class this year.

Thank you for everything Mike.

We welcome John Best to the post of Chairman as voted unanimously at the AGM.

West Country Boat Repairs 2000 class Millennium Series round 4 at Chichester Yacht Club Round 4 of the West Country Boat Repairs Millenium series was held at Chichester YC, a venue that has become a firm favourite with the 2K class. 19 boats entered the event despite the previous week's very vague forecast of wind anywhere from 7 - 20 knots.

Attention 2000 Class Association Members - please respond to the ballot for the proposed measurement rule changes by 02 August 2024

2000 Class CA Members should have received an email outlining the changes to the Class measurement rules which are proposed to take effect from 01 September 2024 - these changes will be presented at the AGM on 4 Aug 24 for ratification so we need your acceptance or rejection of the changes no later than Friday...
