FOOLS at Our Lady's RC Primary School, Aspull

Hi everyone,

The Summer Gala is taking place this year on Sunday 7th July and hoping to make this year the biggest yet.

With Betti Worth of Gladiators fame attending, we’re open to the whole community and those further afield.

We’d love some help to make sure the day raises as much money as possible for the school. We’re expecting over 400 attendees so it’ll be a great day!

If anyone can help with any of the following, we’d be eternally grateful:

🏆 Raffle Prizes
💰 Sponsor a stall for £50 - social media coverage and logo on the stall and in the programme on the day.
💰 Donations of anything we need - meat or buns for the BBQ, drinks for the bar (soft and alcoholic) etc
🍗 A BBQ that we could borrow for the day - we’re in desperate need of a large BBQ or a few small ones to use on the day.
😊 Volunteers - if anyone can spare a bit of time on the day to run a stall for a while that would be amazing!
🛍️ Stall holders - we’re open to outside stall holders for £25 for the day and donation of a raffle prize.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN TO DO OVER THE EASTER HOLIDAYS??

Look no further - Easter Activity Packs will be available to buy via ParentPay. Each will contain at least 5 age-appropriate activity sheets for your child to complete to keep them occupied over the holidays.

Not only that, but bring a colouring sheet back in to school after the break, and it will be entered into a draw to win a special Easter prize! There will be a prize per class so lots of chances to win!

Thank you so much to everyone that volunteered, attended and participated in our Christmas events.

We raised a whopping £3394.48 which will all go back into the school to benefit all the children.

Thanks to all of your generosity, this year alone we've already spent £2000 on new books for the library, offered £1000 to each year group for classroom equipment. We've got the panto booked in for the next school year, and have been asked to fund some further trips for the children towards the end of the year, so watch this space.

Now onto our spring and summer events.

The children loved being able to choose their own gifts for their grown ups for Christmas (we take no responsibility for their choices!)

🎅 GUESS WHO'S COMING TO OUR LADY'S?? 🎅

It's that time of year again! Santa is coming!!

Our Christmas Fair is on 8th December in the school hall from 3.40pm until 5.00pm with (probably) the best Santa's grotto ever!, tombola stalls, raffle, refreshments, crafts for the kids to do and a Christmas gift market. Open to the school community and the wider Aspull community.

If there is anybody that would like a stall, we have spaces available for two more. Stalls are £15 plus donation of a raffle prize. Either message on here or email [email protected] - first come first served.

What a fantastic night we had on Friday at our first Glow in the Dark Christmas disco! We definitely had some hyper kids by the end of the night.

Mystery letters have started sprouting up around Aspull ready for our treasure trail due to begin tomorrow.

Have you spotted any yet? (No spoilers please!)

You’re looking for letters on A3 size paper with the FOOLs logo and an autumn motif.

Don’t forget it’s not too late to get involved. Maps are available at the One House or you can email [email protected] with proof of payment and we’ll email you the map and instructions. Entry is £1 and you could be in with the chance to win a £25 Amazon voucher!

The first FOOLS at Our Lady's RC Primary School, Aspull Community Treasure Hunt is happening from Friday 20th October until Thursday 2nd November, and is open to anyone who wants to take part.
Find the hidden letters around Aspull and unscramble them to make an autumn word.
It's £1 entry, and map packs and answer sheets will be available from either Our Lady's school office or The One House from Wednesday 18th October. We can even email them to you if you can't get out to pick one up.
Every correct entry wins a prize and will be entered into a prize draw to win the grand prize!
So, get outdoors this half term, and test out your navigation skills!

FOOLs will be outside the school hall by the picnic tables, selling hot dogs, drinks and sweets after school, from 3.35pm.

The weather is getting warmer and thoughts turn to summer, and our biggest event of the year... The Summer Gala! This year it's being held on Sunday 9th July from 1pm.

If anyone would be interested in having a stall at the fair, then please get in touch. The stalls will be outside, so if you can provide your own gazebo in case of bad weather, that would be helpful.

The cost of a stall is £30 plus donation of a raffle prize, and we'd just ask that you don't run any raffles or tombolas, as we'll have other stalls set up by the PTA for that.

What a fantastic night and great turnout last night for our first ever quiz night! Thanks to our quizmaster Victoria Caroline Redfern for running the show and our bar-lady extraordinaire Emma Louise. Special thanks to Lynne Jones for saving the day with the food and Helen for serving up. And thanks everyone for making the effort to come out on a Friday night to raise money for the school.

Congratulations to our champions Great Balls of Flynn! You’ll have the chance to defend your title at the next one.

DID YOU KNOW WE CAN NOW ACCEPT CARD PAYMENTS AT FOOLs EVENTS?

The card machine will be available for raffle ticket sales at the Nativity on tomorrow and the Christmas Fair on Friday, and we'll be offering a cash back service as well. So don't worry if you don't carry cash anymore. You can still enjoy the festivities.
