Title: "Harmony Beyond the Fairway: A Golfer's Journey into Meditation and String Theory"
Embarking on a journey inspired by Sarguru's exploration of the third eye, I found an unexpected connection between my golf visualization rituals and the profound principles of meditation. As I delved into the book, a revelation unfolded: the vibrations and energy I've been harnessing on the golf course might extend beyond the fairway, resonating with the concept that everything, including our thoughts and actions, is composed of energy and vibration.
The Golf Course as My Meditation Ground:
For years, I've treated the golf course as a unique meditation canvas, using visualization to enhance my swing and perfect my shots. Little did I know that these mental exercises align with the spiritual and scientific principles of energy and vibration, that resonate with the principles of string theory. The connection between my golf rituals and the broader scope of spiritual awakening surprises me and sets the stage for an exploration beyond the sport.
Expanding Beyond the Fairway:
The realisation that my visualization practices may tap into the fundamental fabric of energy and vibration prompts me to extend these techniques beyond golf. Can this unconventional meditation method influence the energy and vibrations of my daily experiences, impacting my mindset and actions? The prospect is intriguing, and I'm eager to witness the effects on my mental well-being.
Embracing Meditation for Mental Health:
In the pursuit of merging science and spirituality, I've decided to embrace a more traditional form of meditation, considering the principles of energy and vibration embedded in string theory. Despite the skepticism that may accompany such endeavors, I embark on this journey as a scientific experiment, curious to explore the potential benefits on my mental well-being.
The Intersection of Science and Spirituality:
String theory posits that everything, at its most fundamental level, is composed of vibrating strings of energy. As I weave meditation into the fabric of my daily routine, I recognize the potential synergy between these scientific principles and the spiritual dimensions of my mental well-being. The third eye, once shrouded in esoteric discussions, now intersects with the practicalities of daily life, resonating with the vibrational dance of string theory.
Closing Thoughts:
As I navigate the uncharted territories of meditation beyond the golf course, incorporating principles from string theory, I invite you to join me on this intriguing journey. Whether you share a laugh, observe skeptically, or find inspiration to embark on your own fusion of science and spirituality, let's explore the vast landscape that opens up when the vibrations of the third eye meet the harmonious dance of energy and string theory. Who knows what revelations may unfold as we embrace the synergy between our mental well-being and the vibrational symphony of the universe? đ
Title: Embracing Presence in Absence: A Christmas Table of Memories
As the festive season envelops us in warmth and joy, there's a magical transformation that occurs when we gather around the Christmas table. Beyond the clinking of glasses and the aroma of holiday feasts, there lies a tapestry of memories woven from the threads of cherished family members who may no longer be physically present.
1. The Empty Chair:
At the heart of our Christmas table is the symbolic empty chairâa poignant reminder of those we've lost but whose spirits remain vivid in our memories. It's not an absence but a presence felt in stories shared, traditions upheld, and the echoes of laughter that reverberate through time.
2. Grandma's Recipe Book:
As we flip through the worn pages of Grandma's recipe book, the kitchen comes alive with the aroma of her signature dishes. Each bite becomes a portal to the past, connecting us to her love for family and the culinary traditions she passed down. In every simmering pot and baking tray, she is with us, stirring the pot of memories that enrich our Christmas celebration.
3. Dad's Playful Antics:
The sound of Dad's hearty laughter and his playful antics are not confined to old photographs but find their way to the dinner table. His spirit lives on in the joyous banter, the telling of his favorite jokes, and the raising of a glass in his honor. In these moments, we discover that love transcends time and space.
4. Auntie's Handmade Ornaments:
The twinkle of Christmas lights reflects off Auntie's handmade ornaments, delicately hung on the tree. Each ornament tells a storyâa family vacation, a shared adventure, a cherished memory. As we carefully place them, we feel her artistic touch guiding our hands, and the tree becomes a testament to the enduring bonds of family.
5. Uncle's Toast to Unity:
Uncle's tradition of offering a heartfelt toast to unity and love echoes through the generations. His words, imbibed with wisdom and warmth, remind us that the true spirit of Christmas lies in coming together, embracing our differences, and finding strength in the love that binds us.
6. Sister's Favorite Christmas Carol:
The familiar strains of Sister's favorite Christmas carol fill the air, and suddenly she is beside us, singing in harmony. Music has a way of transcending the boundaries between the tangible and the ethereal, and in that shared melody, we find a connection that surpasses the limitations of earthly presence.
As we gather around the Christmas table adorned with these memories, the air is charged with a unique energy, the amalgamation of love, resilience, and shared history. In remembering our departed family members, we discover that their legacy becomes a source of strength and love that enriches our festivities.
So, let's raise a toast to the Christmas table of memories, where the presence in absence becomes a guiding light, illuminating the path towards a holiday season filled with warmth, connection, and the enduring love of family.
Have a wonderful Christmas and remember, it's ok to be a little broken, but it's not ok to stay that way # # #
Title: The Mirrorâs Reflection: Overcoming Self-Doubt Through Empathy
In a quiet room, a group of friends gathered around a collection of mirrors, each reflecting the insecurities and self-doubt that silently plagued their minds. As they stared at their reflections, a sense of vulnerability filled the air.
The challenge presented itself when a compassionate mentor introduced an unexpected twist. Instead of focusing on their own reflections, the friends were tasked with identifying and vocalising the positive qualities they saw in each other. This seemingly simple exercise carried a profound message.
Amidst the whispers of self-doubt, the friends hesitated initially, unsure of what to say about themselves or others. However, as they began to share uplifting observations about each other, a transformative shift occurred. The room, once filled with the echoes of self-criticism, resonated with affirmations and genuine encouragement.
The lesson? Much like the mirrors reflecting their uncertainties, individuals often get entangled in the web of self-doubt. The journey to overcoming this internal struggle doesnât always start with staring into our own reflections but in looking beyond ourselves. By extending empathy and recognising the strengths in others, we unintentionally unveil our own latent potential.
The truest and most profound confidence is not forged in isolation but through the collective support and understanding of those around us. The mentor wisely pointed out that by lifting others up, we, in turn, elevate ourselves from the depths of self-doubt. In embracing a mindset of empathy, we discover that the strength we seek resides not only within ourselves but is mirrored in the positive perceptions of those who see us.
Just as the friends in the room realised the impact of acknowledging each otherâs worth, our lives are enriched when we recognise and celebrate the strengths of those around us. Through genuine connections and acts of kindness, we can untangle the threads of self-doubt and weave a tapestry of confidence and mutual support.
So, letâs adopt the wisdom of âThe Mirrorâs Reflection.â Letâs shift our focus from internal criticisms to the uplifting reflections of those who see us for the incredible individuals we are. In doing so, we may find that overcoming self-doubt is not a solitary journey but a collective celebration of the unique qualities that make each of us extraordinary.
Remember it's ok to be a little broken but it's not ok to stay that way.. xx

In a quaint garden nestled within the heart of a bustling city, a wise gardener imparted a valuable lesson to a group of curious visitors. As they gathered around, the gardener gently explained, "Just as every plant in this garden requires care and attention, our lives too thrive when nurtured by kindness."
The gardener then handed each visitor a small seed and instructed them to plant it in the garden's fertile soil. They were tasked with watering and tending to their seedling for a month, fostering its growth with love and care.
After weeks of diligent nurturing, the once tiny seeds had transformed into vibrant, blooming flowers, painting the garden with a riot of colors. The visitors marveled at the beauty they had collectively created.
The gardener smiled and said, "You see, the kindness you've shown to these plants mirrors the kindness we can share in our daily lives. Like these flowers, kindness blossoms and spreads, touching the hearts of everyone it encounters."
The lesson was simple yet profound: our actions, no matter how small, have the power to create a ripple effect of kindness. When we extend a helping hand, offer a genuine smile, or lend a listening ear, we plant seeds of compassion in the hearts of others. These seeds, nurtured by the warmth of our actions, grow into beautiful flowers of happiness, bringing joy to both the giver and the receiver.
Just as in the garden, where each flower enhances the beauty of the whole, our collective acts of kindness enhance the world we live in. They create a harmonious tapestry of empathy, understanding, and love, weaving together the threads of humanity.
So, let's remember the lesson from the garden and embrace the power of kindness in our lives. Let's be mindful of the seeds we plant with our words and actions, knowing that they have the potential to bloom into something beautiful. By fostering a culture of kindness, we not only brighten the lives of others but also cultivate a garden of joy within ourselves
The Resilience Journey: Bouncing Back from Life's Challenges
In a bustling classroom, a professor gathered his students for a lesson on resilience. He began by sharing anecdotes of individuals who faced overwhelming obstacles but managed to overcome them with unwavering determination. The students listened intently, captivated by the tales of triumph against all odds.
The professor distributed small rubber balls to each student and instructed them to bounce the balls as high as they could. The room filled with laughter as the students enthusiastically participated, their eyes fixed on the bouncing balls.
As the students continued their bouncy endeavours, the professor began introducing distractions and challenges. He turned off the lights, created loud noises, and even shook the room. The once-simple task of bouncing a ball suddenly became incredibly difficult, causing frustration and discouragement to creep into the students' minds.
Just as the students were on the verge of giving up, the professor intervened. He asked them to pause and reflect on the challenges they faced during the experiment.
With a smile, he shared, "Life is often like this experiment. It throws unexpected hurdles at us, testing our resilience. But remember, it's not about avoiding or eliminating the challenges; it's about how we bounce back from them."
The professor encouraged the students to continue bouncing their balls, embracing the distractions and challenges thrown their way. Slowly but surely, their resilience shone through. They adapted to the disruptions, adjusted their techniques, and discovered new ways to make the balls bounce higher. The room filled with a sense of accomplishment and newfound determination.
Gathering the students together, the professor shared the essence of the experiment. "Resilience is not about avoiding challenges or hoping for a smooth journey. It's about learning to adapt, remaining steadfast in the face of adversity, and finding the strength to bounce back even higher than before." Life's challenges are inevitable, but our response to them determines our growth and success. Embracing resilience means acknowledging that setbacks and obstacles are opportunities for personal development. It's about cultivating the inner strength and mindset needed to navigate through difficult times, bounce back, and emerge stronger than ever.
The Moral of the Story:
As we continue our journey through life, let us remember the powerful lesson of the bouncing ball experiment. Resilience is not a one-time achievement but a lifelong practice. It's a reminder that setbacks do not define us; our ability to rise above them does. So, let us embrace the challenges, distractions, and hurdles that come our way, tap into our inner resilience and bounce back with unwavering determination. In doing so, we discover our own incredible strength and inspire others to do the same.
The Imbalance Between Your Real Self and Perceived Self: How to Achieve Balance
Do you ever feel like the person you present to the world is not the real you? Do you feel like youâre living a lie or wearing a mask? If so, youâre not alone. Many people experience an imbalance between their real self and perceived self. In this blog post, weâll explore what this imbalance is, why it happens, and how you can achieve balance between your real and perceived selves.
What is the Imbalance Between Your Real Self and Perceived Self?
Your real self is who you are at your core, including your personality, values, beliefs, and interests. Your perceived self is the version of yourself that you present to the world, including the image you project and the way you behave around others. When there is an imbalance between your real self and perceived self, it means that the person you present to the world is not an accurate reflection of who you really are.
Why Does the Imbalance Happen?
There are several reasons why the imbalance between your real self and perceived self can happen:
Low self-esteem:
When you donât feel good about yourself, you may present a false image to the world to gain acceptance or approval.
Social pressure:
Society has certain expectations about how we should behave and present ourselves, which can lead to us presenting a false image to fit in.
Fear of rejection:
You may present a false image to avoid being rejected or judged by others.
Lack of self-awareness: You may not be aware of your true self, which can lead to presenting a false image to the world.
How to Achieve Balance Between Your Real and Perceived Selves
Itâs important to achieve balance between your real and perceived selves to live a fulfilling life. Here are some steps you can take to achieve this balance:
Practice self-reflection:
Take time to reflect on who you really are, including your personality, values, beliefs, and interests. This will help you become more self-aware and identify areas where there may be an imbalance.
Identify your triggers:
Identify the situations or people that trigger you to present a false image. This will help you become more conscious of your behaviors and actions.
Practice self-acceptance:
Accepting yourself for who you are can help you build self-confidence and reduce the need to present a false image to the world.
Be authentic:
Practice being authentic in your interactions with others. This means being true to yourself and expressing your true thoughts and feelings.
Seek support:
If youâre struggling to achieve balance between your real and perceived selves, seek support from a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional.
Conclusion
The imbalance between your real self and perceived self can be a challenging experience. But by practicing self-reflection, identifying your triggers, practicing self-acceptance, being authentic, and seeking support, you can achieve balance between your real and perceived selves. Remember, the most important thing is to be true to yourself and live a life that aligns with your values and beliefs.
The Significance of Goal Setting for Mental Well-being
Goal setting is a potent tool for enhancing mental well-being. By setting goals, you can develop a sense of direction and purpose in your life. You become more motivated to take action and bring positive changes. In this blog post, we will discuss the importance of goal setting for mental health and how you can use it to improve your well-being.
Why Goal Setting is Crucial for Mental Health
Goals give us a sense of purpose and direction. They create a roadmap for us, and we have something to work towards. This gives us a sense of control over our lives, which can enhance our mental health. Goals also help us stay motivated, especially when we face challenges or setbacks. When we have a clear goal in mind, we are more likely to persist and overcome obstacles.
Setting goals can also improve our self-esteem.
Accomplishing a goal, no matter how small, gives us a sense of achievement. This can boost our confidence and make us feel good about ourselves. Goals also give us a sense of progress. When we see that we are making progress towards our goals, we feel satisfied and fulfilled.
The Different Types of Goals
There are two types of goals: long-term goals and short-term goals. Long-term goals take longer to achieve, such as buying a house, getting a degree, or starting a business. Short-term goals, on the other hand, can be achieved in a shorter period, such as making your bed every morning, going for a walk, or reading a book. Both types of goals are essential for mental health, as they give us something to work towards and a sense of accomplishment.
Goals can be activity-based, such as exercising for 30 minutes every day, or work-based, such as completing a project by a certain deadline. The key is to choose goals that are meaningful to you and that will incrementally improve your life a little every day.
How to Set Goals
When setting goals, it's essential to be specific and realistic. Vague or unrealistic goals can lead to frustration and disappointment. Instead, break down your goals into smaller, achievable steps. For example, if your goal is to run a marathon, start by running a mile every day and gradually increase your distance over time.
It's also important to track your progress. This can help you stay motivated and see how far you've come. Keep a journal or use a goal-tracking app to record your progress and celebrate your achievements.
Conclusion
Goal setting is a powerful tool for improving your mental health. It gives you a sense of direction and purpose, improves your self-esteem, and helps you stay motivated. Whether your goals are long-term or short-term, activity-based or work-based, the key is to choose goals that are meaningful to you and that will improve your life in some way.
So start setting goals today and experience the benefits for your mental health and overall well-goal setting, mental health, purpose, direction, motivation, positive changes, challenges, setbacks, sense of control, self-esteem, achievement, progress, long-term goals, short-term goals, activity-based goals, work-based goals, specific, realistic, achievable, steps, track progress, journal, goal-tracking app, benefits, overall well-being..

Child Mental Health: The Tell-Tale Signs
Mental health is a crucial aspect of overall health, and it is just as important for children as it is for adults.
As a parent, it is essential to be aware of the signs that may indicate that your child is struggling with their mental health. In this article, we will discuss some of the tell-tale signs of mental health problems in children.
Changes in Behaviour
One of the most significant signs that a child may be struggling with their mental health is a change in their behavior.
For example, if your child is usually outgoing and social but suddenly becomes withdrawn and isolated, this could be a sign that they are struggling with anxiety or depression.
Other changes in behavior to watch out for include:
- Changes in sleep patterns
- Loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed
- Difficulty concentrating or completing tasks
- Increased irritability or anger
- Changes in appetite or weight
- Physical Symptoms
- In addition to changes in behavior, children with mental health problems may also experience physical symptoms.
These symptoms can include:
- Headaches or stomachaches with no clear cause
- Frequent complaints of feeling sick or unwell
- Unexplained weight loss or gain
- Changes in sleep patterns
- School-Related Problems
If your child is struggling with mental health problems, you may also notice changes in their academic performance.
For example, they may have difficulty concentrating in class, forget important assignments or tasks, or have trouble completing homework.
They may also have behavioral problems at school, such as acting out or being disruptive.
What to Do If You Suspect Your Child Is Struggling With Mental Health Problems
If you suspect that your child is struggling with mental health problems, it is important to seek professional help.
Start by speaking to your child's pediatrician or family doctor, who can refer you to a mental health professional if necessary. It is also important to talk to your child and let them know that you are there to support them and help them get the help they need.
Conclusion
Child mental health is a serious issue that should not be ignored. By being aware of the signs that your child may be struggling with mental health problems, you can take the necessary steps to get them the help they need. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, and it can make all the difference in your child's life.
As many of you know, my name is Mark McAllister and I am a psychology student at the Open University.
https://openss.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_byAIwtJYsLC7Y46
As part of my studies, I am conducting a research project that contributes to my degree, which completes in June23.
My project explores the relationships between personality, subjective well-being, and social interaction. It is my hope that the findings of this study will shed light on why people with certain personality traits enjoy greater happiness and life satisfaction than others, while highlighting how increasing optimism and levels of social interaction can go a long way in mediating these differences.
I hope to move on to a counselling masters at Bangor in October so that I can offer free psychotherapy and counselling to those that can afford it!
Your participation here will will take between 4-7 minutes and help to further that goal, so thank you in advance

Much love Mark
So I have been thinking about my journey lately and what I have learned so far!
So many of us judge success on how much we earn, how many clicks we have or the amount of friends on Facebook!
This is living our life to social norms created by others. Wouldn't it be nice if we all chose to accept what each day brings and just remembered to be thankful for what we have instead of what we think we need!
When life is getting you down remember this...
It's not the event itself that brings you down it's the way you choose to experience it! You can choose to see every negative event as a chance to build resilience and grow as a person.
Go out today and just say thank you, to every bad thing that gets in your way and you will be amazed how your day improves.
Remember it's ok to be a littlebroken but it's not ok to stay that way! xx
World mental health day October 10th 2022, find out more here!
Remember this one thing.. it's not your job to make everyone else happy! It's your job to make you happy!
Be kind to yourself, because you are a superstar!
It's ok to be a littlebroken, but it's not ok to stay that way! Keep fighting...
Much love mark # # #
As a sufferer of Cyclothymia (a mood disorder not unlike Bipolar) I spend most of my time trying to fit in to socially constructed norms that convince everyone else that I'm 'crazy'.
The smile I put on my second face everyday allows me to mix with muggles, enabling me to hold down relationships and function as a 'normal' human being.
My second face effectively hides my pain so others can comment on how well I'm doing, how I'm a 'productive poster boy' for mental health, a tag people invented to beat down those who cant mask their pain so easily.
When im sat in the car in floods of tears for no apparent reason, it's the shield that rises to protect me, allowing me to calmly gather my thoughts and strut into any important situation.
Just remember not all smiling faces are happy.. so please just be kind to everyone..
It's ok to be a littlebroken but it's not ok to stay that way..
Much love..
A professor gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway.
The professors then mixed all the balloons. The students were given 5 minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search, no one succeeded.
At that point the professors told the students to take the first balloon that they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it.
Within 5 minutes everyone had their own balloon.
The professors said to the students: âThese ballons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own.
However, if we care about the happiness of others....we might just find our own at the same time."
who would have thought that I would hit 2000 likes for my posts when I started this little page at the start of my psychology degree. Two years has gone so fast. Thank you all for every like.. x
5 ways to stop negative thinking!
1. Take deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth... concentrate on your breath and come back to the present
2. Create a bodyguard to your mind!
Ask your bodyguard is this a helpful thought? If not cast it away and give it no air time!
3. Be kind to yourself!
Would you talk to a friend the way you talk to yourself, no you wouldn't! Self deprecation is your enemy. Big yourself up don't put yourself down!
4. Picture a stop sign!ďżź
Literally picture a stop sign when your mind starts to race! This will change your focus and bring back control!
5. Stay in the present!
Depression comes from living in the past, Anxiety from worrying about the future. Stay in the present, keep busy and you will find your happy place.
