We are consulting on changes to our Off Street Parking Places order.

Proposed amendments include the introduction of a 30-minute pay-and-display option at Belle Meadow, as well as changes to the Tarka car park boundary and the creation of Barnstaple Central car park in place of Queen Street and Bear Street.

Representations or objections to the proposals may be sent or delivered in writing before 21 August to the Parking Manager, Lynton House, Commercial Road, Barnstaple, EX31 1DG.

Plans for creating a mixed-use development in the heart of Barnstaple are one step closer to fruition as we have awarded a local construction firm the contract to build the project.

After a successful tender process, Pearce Construction has been appointed to take on the redevelopment of 36/7 Boutport Street.

We purchased the site in 2021 and - as part of the ‘Market Quarter’ project - we are refurbishing it for community and business use. 36 Boutport Street will become a cultural hub for North Devon, while 37 will be a new build incorporating employment units and a number of residential properties, including at least four units of affordable accommodation. The development will also include a central arcade walk-way from the Queen Street car park to the town centre.

We are delighted to have assisted Buckland Brewer Community Primary School with a contribution to their new early years outdoor learning area. Our donation was put to work establishing this new facility which provides a dynamic and engaging environment for their youngest learners to explore and grow

The next stage of the Barnstaple "Market Quarter" improvements will start next week (Tuesday 26 March), as our contractors, Pearce Construction, plan to set up a site compound in an area of Queen Street car park.

The compound will be used by Pearce until late 2025, as they set about rebuilding and restoring 36-7 Boutport Street. The site compound will take over a number of parking spaces within Queen Street car park, and car park users are being encouraged to use the quieter neighbouring Bear Street car park.

The new bespoke sea wall was doing its job at the Larkstone Watersports Hub this week during the high tides. The sea wall blocks are uniquely modelled to fit the shape of the cove 🌊

With the weather finally in our favor, we were able to attend to replace or board over multiple skylights, for a key client, whilst rooms below, were closed to enable the fall arrest system to be installed. We attended in mass to get the job done as quickly as possible, so those key rooms could be handed back.

Works are progressing well at the Lime Kiln Cafe Ilfracombe where we are constructing a new outdoor seating area
