U16 Final:

The U16 final between the hosts KJIHC and Kirkcaldy was no less tense. A couple of early goals for either side led to a closely fought 25 minutes, but a second goal for Kilmarnock led to a 2-1 finish. Excellent effort from both sides.

We would like to thank all the players, supporters and volunteers for making the tournament such a great success. More photos to come soon!

U12 Final:

It was all go from the start in the U12 final between Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen. Aberdeen conceded a couple goals initially but this was rectified by the end of the game with a very tense and excellently played 4-4 score. An even more tense penalty shootout led to a 6-5 win for Aberdeen. What a final!

Kilmarnock v North Ayrshire’s U16’s semifinal match was a fast paced and entertaining affair. Overall a great performance from both teams, but with Kilmarnock scoring 3 quick goals over North Ayrshire’s 1, Killie sent themselves to the final.

Semifinal number 2 for the 16s was another fast and furious game between Aberdeen and Kirkcaldy which, despite intense commitment and drive from both teams, saw Kirkcaldy victorious with a 2-0 score, and off to the final.

And now the final two games of yesterday’s Ensign Ewart Tournament:

In our first final of the day, an eagerly anticipated clash between Belfast and North Ayrshire Wild U10s. Both teams opened brightly with some end to end play evident. First blood went to the Giants with two goals early on, and the Auchenharvie kids kept working hard to try and get back into the game with a goal of their own.
However, finding an extra gear, Belfast made it 3-0, and that was enough to secure the Ensign Ewart Title.

And then the 14s. Would the older Giants emulate their U10s and take two titles back to Belfast? Or would a resilient Kirkcaldy team manage to secure the win? A tense opener saw chances at both ends with no-one able to break the deadlock. The teams could not be separated at the end of regulation and both teams faced the nerve jangling penalty shoot out. Belfast managed to score the game winning penalty and secure the double.
