If I ever wonder after working 7 days and standing for an unhealthy number of hours in my kitchen if it’s worth it, I only have to look back at the reactions and faces of the beautiful Pelo children when they get their cakes!
Seriously is it 6 years strong?? and seeing the family grow over these years, Ola and Darcy never fail to create magical moments for each of their cuties, and then always the support in choosing me to bless their special days! 🙏🏾
I feel both humbled and touched by their faith and trust in me each time! They state what each child loves and let me work my magic! I think that’s what pushes me to make each cake better tbh!!

Another year gone so quickly and again time for Ariya’s birthday cake! 🫶🏾
I’m always intrigued what cake will be asked for each year and this year definitely did NOT disappoint! 😝
When said they wanted an edible glitterball as the top tier with headphones I cannot lie my first reaction was- I can’t do it! Then he said, “I trust you can” and reluctantly I agreed! Really I was thinking WTH I really don’t want to screw this up! 😫
Several YouTube videos later I still questioned my plan of action and as usually procrastination set in and I focused on the bottom tiers as with those I knew where I was going. I made the top tier cake (two halves),and then made it a circle, crumb coated it but still was not sure on how shiny I Cakecould get it, so I did what anyone else would do and made my baby shower order of cupcakes instead! 🤣🤣🤣 (Yes I chose the path of least resistance!)
Eventually after ganaching the ball, I realised what my next steps should be and the second my daughter came in the kitchen and said “Mummy, are you making a glitterball?” I was like YASSSS I did it!
Can’t lie after taking the pictures I was impressed with myself! (Brushes shoulders!) 🙌🏾
So my learning and message, it’s natural to doubt yourself when unsure about doing something you’ve not done before, but the key is to breath, research, persevere, and not to give up!! It will work out in the end! 👌🏾

When you asked for a cat themed cake I was a little stumped but then decided to make something cute, fun and girly! Hope you loved it! 🤞🏾

Going the extra mile!
With this cake there were a few more processes that I decided to take it to the next level! If you watched my stories a few days ago I was late night meringue and lollipop making and it was all worth it in the end!
I don’t like making meringue because I never know what to do with the yolks and I hate wasting food! Especially with the price of eggs at the moment 🤦🏾‍♀️😫 but homemade meringue is seriously so much tastier! It had been a while, so three batches later I finally had some that did not colour (key tip: very very low oven for much longer! 👌🏾) But the extra work was so worth it and they were very tasty if I do say so myself 😜
The lollipops now! I’ve made before but never had a thermometer!! This is vital! This time they didn’t start to droop! (It takes a LONG time to get to 300F!
Anyway a few hours later we had what was needed to make the .williams1 son’s 5th Birthday cake extra special!
This is why bespoke cakes can’t be cheap! As well as key ingredients being super expensive and hard to come by right now, A LOT of love, care, attention and hours go into achieving the end product! 🫶🏾
