Yesterday I was installing an access point in a friends loft yesterday for extended WiFi coverage (brick built chalet bungalow and all internal walls brick meaning WiFi coverage really patchy)

The job was made easier somewhat with pass through RJ45 connectors, although I had left my glasses on the ground floor! Coupled with some (lots!) heat and a very low pitch roof, it made it that more “challenging” 🤣

See if you can spot the mistake in the colours too - I did before I crimped the plug 😱

After the install, coverage was greatly increased meaning they could also use WiFi calling on their phone in the garden and their smart TV actually worked without buffering.

Sadly as they are in a rural area, the best speeds on VDSL were 4mb down and 0.5mb up and no chance of FTTP (fibre to the premises) for some time.

No after pictures as I forgot to take some, but here’s some while I was struggling in said loft area! 🥵

It’s a wrap from us until the 2nd January.

Here it is, a fine example of an Amazon “refurbished” PC

Purchased for a customers business and this is what was received - absolutely thick with dust inside and out, scratched casing and missing the rubber feet.

Needless to say this will be going back and I’ll be finding an alternative.

Can’t fault Amazon, they were really good with this in authorising a return straight away.

So today was spent doing this for a customer. In conjunction with a great partner supplier, we’ve installed combination data and power trunking.

In amongst this mess we also removed all the excessive cabling, installed new data sockets and improved the wiring of the internal BT phone cabling, which has improved the line exceptionally well.

Oh and on top of this, cloud access for the customers wifi system and a brucie bonus of sorting out their sound system in the premises… phew! It was a hot one 🥵

And you’ll realise my mistake here, no after pictures! Will try and get some another time.

A new wireless access point system install completed for a local business. The customer had connectivity issues with their point of sale system and card machines.

This TP-LINK Omada system allows complete flexibility with configuration independent of whatever broadband provider is in use.

As a result, this customer now has complete coverage of the premises and into their garden area also.

This afternoon has been spent rebuilding a gaming PC.

It’s not quite finished yet as some of the parts supplied by the customer didn’t fit, or were missing on delivery.

We hope to have this completed very soon, meanwhile here’s a sneak peek.

I don’t like letting people down by not returning calls.

I am forever grateful that the customer was very understanding but this still leaves a sour taste and a feeling of disappointment that I have let someone down as they had to go elsewhere ultimately, which I totally respect and understand.
