We’re challenging our students (past and present), staff, and members of the general public, to send us pieces of original microfiction in any of the four categories listed below. You can submit here via Facebook, by Twitter (@MicroEssex), or by e-mailing [email protected]. Just post your entries, specifying which category you are submitting under (you can use the shorthand # indicated below) and including your contact details (or we can contact you via Facebook or Twitter if you wish). There is a limit of 10 entries per person. The closing date is midnight on Wednesday 8 May and the winners will be chosen by a panel of published writers. Winning entries will be published in the University’s student journal, ESTRO, or staff publication, In Practice. There will be a prize of £50 for the winning student entry in each category, plus a 'writing experience'. However staff and the general public will have to settle for exposure and prestige!
